"Rabbit Hole" reminds me of one of my friends that I just kind of cut ties with so I could see the connection to Tom, but I doubt it's about him.

Just sounds like my situation where the friend wants to pick fights over and over and always makes you feel guilty, but eventually you just have to say "I'm not going through this again".

 

This is what I get, about a toxic friend or girlfriend that you just refuse to constantly concerned with or following into destruction again

 

Agreed it's probably not about Tom, if anything you could make a stronger argument that Bored to Death is about Tom based off the lyrics in my opinion. But that's the beauty about music being able to draw connections personally to different things/situations.

I don't think any songs about Tom will show up here, at least not as obvious as WYHSB. He's coming back, and that just wouldn't bode well, I imagine.

 

I'm not trying to be rude, but why the hell do people keep saying Tom is coming back. There's no fucking way.

 

I think he is. Especially considering the information Mark shared about this album cycle and the next. Either Tom comes back or Trio is sitting on the back burner for the next 4 years. I think Tom will get through his commitments and then come back to blink. It sucks, but I think everything has been way too quiet to say Tom is done for good.

 

Lol they could not work together in a band again. Period.

 

I can't see Tom ever getting through his commitments. He's always going to be keep adding more and more and more and more and more and more.

 

Why are people interpreting 2 year album cycle as that's how long we have til Tom comes back? They are simply thinking of Matt's band. They love Trio and they'll let him get back to it at some point. And then Matt will get back to blink.

 

That would be ideal. I just don't think that's whats happening. Theres no way you walk away from the money machine that blink is without something more... a definitive statement, legal rumors, SOMETHING.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if Alkaline Trio record their new album this winter/spring.

Because Mark said in an interview that after this two year cycle they were going to start working on the next album right away.

 

I do think there's a chance many years from now that Tom will come back, I just don't think it's a big chance at all. With the whole two year cycle thing I wonder how that will affect Alkaline Trio

 

Ok. Story time.

So I'm out in LA for the weekend with one of my younger brothers. We drove out here from Utah to see The Matches on their 10-year anniversary tour for our favorite album of theirs, Decomposer.

Earlier this week, I snapchatted Travis Barker asking him what is favorite meals are at the restaurant Crossroads because I wanted to check that place out while we were out here since Travis talks about it a lot. And that's also the place Mark and Travis brought Skiba when they asked him to join Blink! And it's also where they took Feldmann when they asked him to help with their new record. Very cool. Anyway! Surprisingly, Travis wrote back with like two full paragraphs describing his favorite food there. I screenshot it, saved the list for this weekend, and geeked the fuck out to my friends for a few minutes. Cool.

Then, a couple days ago, I saw online that Travis was going to be doing a signing at this little store here in LA this on Friday (yesterday). So obviously, my brother and I had to go! There weren't as many people waiting there in line as you'd probably imagine. At least I was surprised. They were letting about 7-8 people in at a time, and we were in the third or fourth group. So we go in, shake Travis' hand, I get a picture with him, and then I said, "Hey I'm the dude that was snapchatting you about Crossroads. Let's go there after the signing!" Haha I was obviously (kind of) kidding. He said, "Oh man! I wiiiiish, but I have a lot of Blink records and drumheads to sign this weekend. But I might go over there. We'll see." And I shook his hand again and left.

My brother and I geeked out together about meeting Travis as we drove down the street a few blocks over to Crossroads. We go in and they sit us at the 2 person table nearest to the main entrance, and I'm facing the door. My brother and I go through the list that Travis gave us and we each ordered a couple things from it. I got the Asparagus Oysters and a Kale Salad, Travis highly recommends both of those. I also ordered their draft Hefeweizen beer.

They bring out the first plates we ordered. Holy shit those oysters were amazing! Seriously so good. While we were sitting there eating, an actress walked in. Not sure her name, but I definitely recognized her. So cool, we saw a famous-ish person! Ha.

Then they bring our our seconds plates. Mine was the kale salad. A big ol' mound of it. I'm about halfway through it, feeling a bit tipsy from the beer (I was already well into my second one), and then in walks fucking Travis! I kick my brother and tell him to look, and we are both so stoked! Haha. I whispered to Travis to come over, and he walked to our table and we all gushed about the food for a minute and I told him thank you for the recommendations, blah blah blah. And then he told us to order the chocolate bread pudding because "it's stupid how good it is!" And then drunk Brad said, "Pull up a chair!" Haha and he said he couldn't cuz he was meeting someone there. It was just one of his friends or an assistant. I saw him earlier at the signing, and he was kind of in charge of herding people in and out, etc.

So Travis and his pal go and sit down at a table near the back of the restaurant. My brother and I start geeking out again, obviously. "We've talked to Travis TWICE today! Ahhhh!" Haha. But while geeking out, I notice a couple people walk into the restaurant, and one of them was Spider-Man, himself! Tobey Maguire. That was cool! But I didn't ask him to come over to our table haha.

After I finished my big kale salad, we ordered out desserts. I got the chocolate bread pudding like Travis suggested, and he wasn't kidding. It was SO good! I'm about halfway through and see Travis is on his way out. But before he left, fucking Travis comes up to OUR table and asks ME what I think of the dessert! I told him it was amazing and thank you and how it was so good to meet him a couple times today, blah blah blah, and he left.

I saw and talked to Travis THREE times yesterday! Gahhhh!!!

After dinner, my brother and I drove about 5 minutes from the restaurant to see where Blink filmed the "What's My Age Again?" music video. So that was pretty cool!

After that, we went to The Matches show and had a great sweaty fun time.

I got a couple pictures of Travis, the WMAA spots, and The Matches that I'll post later. But yeah, there's my story!

Now I'm gonna snap Travis and see if he wants to hike to the Hollywood sign with me and my brother this morning. Haha

 

Hahaha this is just too awesome. I'm definitely jealous

 

I sure hope so. I'm very happy with Matt in blink, but I hate seeing Alkaline Trio held back like this.

 

So awesome!! I also love Tobey Maguire. ;)

 

Awesome Brad. Meanwhile I am here in Germany...man I miss LA, a city that I consider my second home by now. I love this city so much.
