Movie also says a lot about the ego of men who think they can be heroes. The minute they become determined to take matters into their own hands, they’ve already doomed themselves.

 

I just love the scrappy simplicity Llewelyn had. That’s the kind of guy you don’t want to be 1 on 1 against.

He loses in the end, but he puts up a pretty believable fight for a hunter from west Texas / draft vet who served two tours in Vietnam. At that point he’s just fearless and seen some shit already and he had nothing to lose. No one else in that movie stood up to Anton but Llewelyn just treated him like another mortal man.

 

Wow, it’s almost like a player at 27 years old in his prime during his all time great MVP season was better than a 34 year old after sustaining multiple injuries! Who woulda thunk it???

We just needed a quarterback at the wrong time and that fuckin sucks. There was like no one good from 2013-2014. Geno Smith and Johnny Manziel were the “top prospects” lmao. And then Bortles looks just good enough in 2015 to get attention, causing us to pass while other teams made these moves in a much richer 2016-2018 class

Between declining fringe starter Garrard and bust Blaine Gabbert, we also neglected to pursue Matt Ryan, Russell Wilson, Colin Kaepernick and even though I’m not a fan, Ryan Tannehill and Joe Flacco would still be better. Hell, at this point I’d consider Andy Dalton and Derek Carr better value cause both were drafted in round 2, & Dak in round 4.

(again, not gonna count Luck, Stafford, or Newton cause those teams would never have traded that pick)

The only kinds of players that wouldn’t have been worth it are the obvious misses / players lost to injury like RG3, Sam Bradford, Johnny Manziel, Teddy Bridge, etc. And granted recently we could’ve done something bad and way overpaid declining Alex Smith or made a lateral move to Case Keenum... but hell I’d have even loved to draft Josh Rosen.

That’s a LOT of average to very good quarterbacks who are still starters today, that we missed by not moving on from a bad QB at the right time. Like, at any point we could have been aggressive and gone after one of the 19 QB listed above.

And now look at us again, QB needy in a shit 2019 draft

 

I can't wait until the Packers have an actual bad QB
