I didn't feel a drop in quality until season 5, though season 4 was broader

 

Please never reboot this show. Honestly, don’t reboot any show or remake any movie. It’s just not needed. Have some original ideas instead.

 

Why is there a push for reboot? Why not do like a special where the documentary has them all come back to Scranton for a weekend or something.

 

They should reboot Last Man on Earth

 

No way, Last Man on Earth was amazing and shouldn't have been cancelled in the first place.

 

I definitely don't think they should reboot it.

BUT I would absolutely love if they got back together to film a Christmas episode. That way its a one-off...we're happy, they're happy. Win win.

 

I mean... it's going to happen isn't it? They're all pushing for it in such a heavy fashion (with the wise exception of Steve). If Greg Daniels is open to it then it's going to happen in some form or another. That's if it hasn't already been decided.

Has Krasinski said anything recently? I think at one point he said it would feel forced, but if they could do it right for some kind of one-off special, he might consider it. He's gotta be pretty busy with the Quiet Place sequel and his Amazon show

 

I could see them do like a 6 ep mini season every few years. Lower commitment for all parties involved. Higher chance of writing a good script too.

 

He said it loads when he was publicising A Quiet Place. I think he did come out with the idea of doing a Christmas special but I can't imagine he'd be against doing a proper reboot or, as suggested above, a mini-season.

 

We should leave well enough alone because otherwise where do we draw the line and say stop? If they do an episode or a mini-series people will be asking for it again in 5-10 years. The only way people don’t ask for it is if it sucks and I’d rather have my last memory of the show be the finale and thinking on “what could have been” instead of “I purposefully ignore what they came back with because it puts a damper on the perfect ending they did have”.

Just my two cents though.

 

They could reboot it and it could be awful and you could still enjoy the regular series. A reboot doesn't take away from the original. I'd be down for some more office, love seeing where characters are years later.

The Gilmore Girls reboot is awful but I still adore the original series.

 

I'm so tired of this trend of rebooting old shows in general. Like, who the hell was asking for Murphy Brown or Coach to come back? Let the past stay there and keep making new shows

 

Why don't they ever bring back or remake good shows, like 'BJ and the Bear.' Now there's a concept I can't get enough of, a man and his monkey.

 

A reboot 100 percent can tarnish the show. Granted, this is a sitcom with a total of three characters I care about so it'd be very hard for them to do that. But a reboot is literally an extension of the story.

 

Reboots don’t make previous seasons worse.

 

It changes the end. It could turn the characters into someone you don't like. Also, How I Met Your Mother's ending made the entire series worse, so it's definitely possible for a reboot to ruin things.

 

Hmmmm idk. I think the only reboot I've really been invested in was Gilmore Girls and I still enjoy the original, so I guess it's hard for me to see it ruining previous seasons.

I also don't think a reboot of the office could do anything worse than the last few seasons.

Still holding out hope for that Everwood reboot, whaddddddup.

Edit: you're god damn right about HIMYM ruining everything but that's on a whole nother level of awful.

 

HIMYM went so quickly from being one of the best shows on tv to one of the worst shows of all time. i will forever resent that show for how atrocious it got.

Yeah HIMYM is an example of how a bad ending can ruin everything that came before. The ending ruined that show so much I haven’t wanted to watch a single episode since it ended.

 

I still haven't watched the last season of HIMYM because I don't want it ruined. Although to be fair, the show had already gotten pretty awful before that.

 

my opinion is that there were no good episodes made after season 4 of that show, and even the majority of season 4 itself is completely suspect. I’m honestly annoyed just typing this lol
