The videographer at my friend’s wedding this past weekend had a drone and yes I made an Obama joke.

Also, having a wedding is worth it because you should more or less break even from wedding gifts. I think we about broke even when all was said and done, maybe finished a thousand or two in the hole at most. And by "we" i'm counting her parents because they paid for the large majority of it. My mom also helped by buying a bunch of booze over the length of our engagement so we didn't really spend anything on that.

And it helped that we didn't have to pay for a venue since we just had it on my dad's property. But venues aren't really that big of a cost compared to the food/drink. The catering was a huge cost.

  5. What is a Buck Sexton? It sounds like a sex position someone named Buck would never actually get to do.

I make about $60K per year, paychecks are roughly $1700 every 2 weeks. 4 kids, $930 mortgage, $1,000 per month on groceries, plus medical expenses, credit card, and utilities. We have a home equity loan used to pay off debt with a $200 payment and have exactly zero left over every month. We are super careful, don’t eat out and with my bonus (around 8%) we go on 1 vacation per year. If I were to make it to $75K per year, it would simply mean I can fill up my gas tank all the way instead of $15 at a time and contribute to my 401K. Other than that it wouldn’t be all that much different. I feel like I’m order to even be comfortable this day and age for a family of 6 it needs to be six figures.

Rich people simply don't have any concept what it's like for anyone in or below middle class, do they? And they don't give a shit, huh?

I shouldn't be surprised by this ever, but it still just makes me shake my head.

That's so crazy...we have a 2800 sq. ft house that we bought for $165,000 in 2010...pmt started out around $1300 and we refinanced down to $900. Boise, ID is cheap super inexpensive for housing, although with the recent population boom prices have increased quite a bit.
