Surprised they did Hurricane acoustic, sounded great though. I figured they'd go for a softer song like Stat with Me or The Long Defeat.

Dustin played it at Fingerprints. They also played SWM and TLD that night along with BH and DFA.

Just got back from the show in Atlanta. Had a lot of fun. Really enjoyed La Dispute despite not being familiar with their material really at all.

Like always, Thrice was a lot of fun. They played a strong selection of songs. There was a new song (I think) they played towards the beginning and had to take a mulligan after a member was playing the next song in the setlist haha.

Dustin sounded good on the new songs, but he was just off throughout the entire night. You could tell he was really struggling. I just saw him last year on his solo tour and he was right on point. Normally I just would have thought that he was still shaking off the cobwebs after not playing full band, 20 set songs almost every night. But I think they the last two nights off. Also, the only reason I noticed this was because someone brought it up earlier in the thread, but it didn't look to me like Dustin had lost much weight, if any. But if no one had said anything, I wouldn't have even paid attention to that. Interested to see if he tunes up towards the end of the tour.

Speaking of the end of the tour, I'm starting to think that there won't be any records available by then. They were selling a bunch from what I saw, and with no limit. Not sure why they decided to do that unless they are just trying to sell them as quickly as they can because they need the money. Or the people running the merch tables don't know to limit per show. Thrice originally said they would designate an amount to each show.

I've been saying that he's been off this entire tour. He's been so good for so long that it's easy to notice. Still, he powers through it with all his might. He's a beast.

  5. He didn't sound great based on @Garrett L. 's snaps but I wasn't sure if that was just cell phone quality

I thought he sounded like almost every other time I've seen them and that he looked smaller than the farewell tour. I also picked horrendous moments to Snap, haha.

During Stay With Me he was flawless.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Really really looking forward to this Tuesday. Saw Thrice last summer at Wrecking Ball in Atlanta but I haven't seen them at The Norva since the farewell tour. All the feels.....

Okay glad I'm not the only one who thought he definitely sounded off. It was kind of obvious. My fiancé was a music major and she noticed how off pitch he was through his first few lines of Hurricane, which was incredible live by the way.

I wonder if they got a new sound guy.. Believe it or not that can actually really throw singers off

I legit was looking for the "strain" mentioned in this thread and noticed nothing I hadn't noticed in prior sets by them.

I did notice Teppei is singing more on the heavier songs. Guessing it IS more difficult for Dustin to switch between screams and singing these days. But Hold Fast Hope is a vocal nightmare (which is why it's so great).

I wouldn't call it a 'strain' at all really. Off or lost are the best words I can use to describe it. And yeah I noticed Teppei stepping in on a lot of parts also. I was just thinking he was doing it to assist Dustin and try to mask the uneven vocals. I haven't seen Thrice as many times as @Garrett L. has, but I've seen them 7-8 times, and that's the first time Dustin's vocals just haven't seemed right.

(By the way, it was cool to meet you last night, @Garrett L.)

@airik625 same! Hope you enjoy the record, too.

I think The Tabernacle may just have weird sound, too. I can't really recall many bands sounding their best there. (Prior Thrice performances there aside haha.)

I just watched those Sixth Man Sessions on Facebook though and Dustin sounds just fine. I think that was even recorded yesterday, the same day as the show. Hm.

Does anyone know if there is a way to rip those sessions? Don't care too much for the video, but would love to have a rip of the audio.

Some Teppei vox on LP 10 would be cool.

Always thought it'd be cool to hear Ed scream on a record too.

Guys, I've been watching Dustin live since 1999. Something's off right now. I've heard it in every single one of their performances including in-person at Shrine. It's more pronounced in some songs but he's definitely laboring overall.

    hmmm

He's definitely off. Every live video I've seen of their recent performances has him singing pretty out of key at some point. Weirdly it seems to be the parts that he has to sing less aggressively that are sounding off. With the louder, higher parts, he can, to a certain extent, power through it.

I wouldn't worry about it though.
