we're all a bunch of weirdos on a quest to belong Prestigious

Why release a trailer to hype a certain tone if you are going to change it?

Because time and time again, Hollywood brass like to meddle with things. Who know why they're doing it though. Perhaps focus group data pushed it, maybe the brass at Disney got cold feet on it, or they're trying to make it more family friendly. It could just be a fake rumor to rustle people's jimmies, we'll have to see.

I find it so odd that these studios greenlight these movie scripts and then somehow end up disappointed with what they get.

Reshoots happen, don't get too caught up in it. Maybe something really isn't working. On movies this big, production can often move too fast, before scripts are polished and solid. Tone might be part of the issue. There could be character or story stuff that just isn't working. Gareth Edwards is still involved. Hopefully it's for the film's benefit. We'll see how the movie is when it comes out.

Everyone knows that reshoots happen. Close to half of the movie should be cause for a little bit of pondering as to why, no matter how excited you are for the movie

“The changes have everything to do with clarity and character development and all take place [as inserts] within scenes we’ve already shot. […] It’s a lot of talking in cockpits.”

So funny how overblown everything got.

Not sure why that's funny. I'm positive someone who could direct an actor could get a good performance from him. I'm not convinced he's not going to be in one of the next two movies

The new Entertainment Weekly Cover is of Rogue One. It looks cool, and it confirms something pretty much everyone assumed was happening anyway.

That's awesome but what a weird way for lucasfilm to confirm that. I feel like a promo picture, or a new poster, or something would have been way more exciting than just flat out saying it with words on a magazine cover. Maybe there's a picture inside? Idk. Great news though.

Yea, it's a little odd. But given that it was such a given, it doesn't really matter to me.

Edit: a photo would be neat. But his look can't really change haha so I won't be upset if there isn't one.

True. I guess I didn't think it was for certain. I thought maybe a cameo or something

How crazy would it be if they released a picture of him doing something in the movie like choking out some rebels or something People would have lost their shit. But hey, that's just my inner fanboy talking.

Given the context of the film, it would have been more shocking if he didn't pop up haha

I would rather a photo of him just standing there and save the cool shots for the movie itself. That's just me though.

    So Hayden is Vader, right?

What if they did cast him as Vader, and he completely redeems his prequel performance. That would be cool. Though James Earl Jones is goat.

They should absolutely have JEJ do the voice and include a shot of his head out of the helmet using Hayden. The former is surely a forgone conclusion, but the latter would also be pretty cool.

Also, some people on Twitter were upset by the "spoiler"? I'm sorry, but whether or not you'd have preferred a surprise, officially released information in promotion materials, specifically on a magazine cover, simply isn't a spoiler. It's just not.

I would argue it could still be a spoiler... But since it is officially released by the people behind the movie it doesn't really need to be presented as one. Trailers spoil things all the time, sometimes things I do not want to know going in. But it's officially released, so I can't be mad about it.

I spoil tagged above just to be nice. But if someone else had come in and posted it outright, that would have been fine.
