Would say that Liverpool have pushed on significantly compared to last year. Probably doing better than expected? Bit harsh on Poch and nowhere near harsh enough on Mourihno. Man United are in 8th, equal on points with Burnley and Watford and behind them on goal difference. That's pretty abysmal.

  2. I think Emery has done a great job considering their roster. I mean, it’s not bad. They clearly have talented players. But I think the talent is a random group of players that don’t necessarily fit together. A lot of people were saying Arsenal were in a free fall towards the end of last season but I don’t think that’s the case with Emery there. He should have them looking strong after a couple transfer windows.

That's a good point - talented players but not necessarily cohesive. They've done better than I thought they would, as have Chelsea.

I had the season as a two horse race between City and Liverpool. Great to see others competing. I really hope City don't win - it's been nice that no one has retained the title for quite a number of years... I'd much rather we had a new winner like Tottenham or Liverpool.

  4. I’m torn on Tottenham’s chances. The optimism in me says we haven’t even played well and have been slammed with injuries yet we are right there. The pessimist side of me says we haven’t played well and our luck will run out and we’ll be out of top four.

I'd be really surprised if you missed top 4. However, unless City and Liverpool slow down, I can't see anyone else touching those two. Tbh, I can only see Liverpool taking it (much as I'd like them to) if City have some massive slump.

I'd almost agree with those rankings tbh, perhaps C+ for Poch and B or B- for Emery (as well as he has done, he has not been as good as Klopp or Sarri). I think my top 4 prediction would be City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal with Spurs and United 5th & 6th. This stadium stuff will be the reason Spurs don't make top 4; moving to a new ground at the beginning of a season has it's challenges - moving in the middle of a season will be even worse and will disrupt them and any momentum they may have.

I wonder if the mid season move will be disruptive. The stadium is right next to where it used to be and they've added a various things to bring a bit of tradition with it. If they can unveil/open the stadium in an exciting way, it might actually give them a little boost.

Obviously, that would all depend on everything being right and ready to go from the start. Given it's overrunning, that seems unlikely.

  8. If they can move into that stadium mid season it will certainly be a boost. The players and staff are so excited for the stadium and it will be such a relief once it’s finally finished.

The latest videos makes me think they’ll be able to start playing games there in January.

  9. Also, 27 points through 12 games is literally Poch’s best start to a season. He’s done an exceptional job at rotating the squad and handling injuries. I don’t see how anyone could agree at a C grade.

Being annoyed at a grade from ESPN is like being annoyed at a Pitchfork review.

Didn't realise it was his best start to a season. That's impressive. Shows how much context plays a part in people's perception.

Would be very cool to see him play there but I don't think he will get in the team over who they have now.

  14. I didn’t realize Rooney’s big game was against USA. Today’s game should be fun.

Yup. Wish I could watch it more closely. Will likely stream it on my phone. Just hope USA doesn’t get totally embarrassed.

I don't understand why Rooney wasn't starting. I mean it was a friendly against the USA...

Because we had the future to think about. He got 32 minutes. If it was me he would have had less! It’s much more important that people like Wilson and Sancho got a fair chance. I’m pleased about that and glad they did well even though it was against inexperienced opposition.

  21. lmao this is clearly fake

Angered by Barca’s tactics....let’s call Daniel Levy....

Doesn't everyone with boat loads of money want de Jong?

  24. I think that applies to both players

I don’t think United would be in for de Ligt. I think they’ll try and fail for Skriniar in the winter.
