I think when you dangle a pitcher as good as Kluber, with this much team control, you can dictate the return. If they want to free up a ton of money, they absolutely could just ask for futures. I didn’t realize the $15 was next year, but thought it was this year as well, so that was my bad. I would think this is kind of comparable to the White Sox moving Sale? They got Kopech + Moncada back in that deal. My only concern is obviously, Cleveland should want MLB ready talent back because of how close they are to a WS.

Ultimately, the idea of moving Kluber is ridiculous right now. Maybe in a couple years, sure. It’s already wild that they didn’t qualify Brantley at all, but Cleveland is gonna do what they do.

 

I know WAR is the sexy thing but I really thought J.D. would get in the top 3 for MVP

As much as I love the guy, I don't even think Ramirez should be in the top 3. He had a horrible August/September. This is all Betts though.

Anyone else laughing at “Kimbrel is the best of all time?”

 

Jim Bowden speculating on The Athletic that Realmuto to the Braves would likely cost two of the following 4 arms: Ian Anderson, Touki Toussaint, Bryse Wilson and Luiz Gohara.

I would absolutely do it for Wilson/Gohara

 

Bryse Wilson’s spot start this season was the most impressive thing I’ve seen all year from any of our young pitchers. I hope we keep him. I would prefer sending them Allard/Gohara. Prob won’t get it done though. Both didn’t look good at all last season in their big league appearances.

 

If Mo Rivera didn’t exist this wouldn’t sound too crazy. Kimbrel has just been so bad down the stretch, you forget how dominating he has been like 90% of his career.

With that said, I don’t see him getting any better so I would stay away from him in free agency.

 

Problem is...Mo Rivera exists. More people have walked on the moon than have scored off Rivera in the playoffs.

 

That spot start was pretty nice....as long as Gohara was one of the two arms I think I could handle it just for the all around play Realmuto would bring to the lineup

 

I don't have the patience to look up who but there had to be somebody worthy of a Silver Slugger instead of giving J.D. an extra one for playing 57 games in the OF.
