Pats list like 20 players as questionable every week, but thats OK though

 

well this is annoying, I can't be arsed to read this

 

Sounds like its because they didnt list him questionable after Thursday's practice where he did a lot less work. Which...he didnt play...so that seems fair.

But it also seems SUPER petty to fine a team over that.

Honestly, it reads like he might not show at all. If he doesnt show, the Steelers would have to tag him at the 3rd year tag level in 2019, which is the average of the top 5 salaries in the league. That'd be like $25+ mil.

Basically, there's no reason to show (aside from making a few mil this year). And it sets a precedent that a player who believes they are worth it should sit out the 2nd franchise tag.

Which, is certainly true for elite CBs/QBs/LBs who can break the $18-20mil mark a year. In his case, I think he just threw away a pretty fair 1-year salary.

 

NFLPA is screwed in 2020, btw. They've done a terrible job making a case for why what Bell is doing is right. And they're somehow gonna win an argument that franchise tags need to go away + players deserve more money + they're gonna keep hundreds of players in lockstep while losing paychecks?

 

how many games has he missed in his career? are there any rumblings that he's injury prone or might be a bust if this keeps up?

 

Well aside from being suspended one game, he’s completely missed 8 of 23 games, got knocked out of another 3, and played 3 hurt at much less effectiveness

So that leaves only 9 of 23 games we’ve had him at full strength

 

Yes, he was only waived because Sproles is healthy

 

At this point right now I'd rather have Carter. Sproles is just damn brittle.

Minkah leads the entire NFL in passer rating into his coverage

Donte isn’t a top 10 rookie in this class right now tbh

But he is good

 

I can get excluding Donte. His game is still flawed. Boom or bust kind of corner. Leonard is a bit too high too. Nelson isn't even the best rookie at his position. I'm fine with Derwin/Ward in the top three. Minkah has been great though so idk how he isn't there.

 

That ESPN list doesn't even make sense because they just named Saquon Barkley as offensive rookie and Bradley Chubb as defensive rookie of the first half on NFL Live.

 

Did they? Thought they named Derwin

 

Barkley and Lindsay are way too low, and Donte Jackson needs to be there, otherwise I agree with the list

 

To be fair the NFL loves pass rushers for awards and hates defensive backs for awards

 

oh wait fuck nah Justin Reid needs to be on that list too
