guy i'm playing this week is trying to do temporary one-week trades with other people right now and it feels real bad. this is when i wish i understood fantasy more because it feels like this shouldn't actually be allowed?

What do y’all think of money transactions being involved in trades? I personally haven’t experienced it but it seems like it happens.

 

Never done it but I did play in a league once where any free agent pick-up cost $1 after 5 moves. I actually liked that.

Yeah, I hate that premise. Its functionally collusion, even if the trades are legitimate in value.

And I say this as someone who had to take over a team in my league...and have avoided trading with myself even though there's 2 or 3 perfectly fair trades I could make. It should all be above board, no hint of sketchiness.

Unless you're a deep bench league, yeah. Fournette is almost certainly back in Week 10, and at best, Hyde is a time share with Yeldon

That isn’t a bad rule, actually. But more so there were talks between two teams in which one team would trade Diggs and 20 dollars for the others Antoino Brown. It never came to fruition so I never had to deal with it, but I guess I was just wondering if anyone has dealt with one sided trades like that.

 

You deal with that by locking their teams and returning the players to their original team. Give them a warning, they do it again any time in the future and you get to find 2 new team owners next year.

It's one thing to take advantage of a dumb player, and even that has its limits...but teams tanking for money makes fantasy no fun.

 

Yeah, I am also commissioner of the league so I would have most likely voided it if it seems like there was any collusion like that. I’m not a perfect fantasy player but I think I have a good eye when a transaction would be fishy or not.

 

Would a Chubb for Marvin Jones be a fair trade?

 

Yeah I wouldn't be down with that. Team's in last place could be like well my seasons shot, lets trade some players away for cash and make up for it.

My dad plays in a league where every waiver wire pick up cost $2. The money gets added to the pot at the end of the year and its always a good amount of money. I always thought that was cool but wouldn't want to do it in my league lol.

 

There's someone on Reddit that posts trade values every Wednesday and I've found it pretty useful. Averages trade values from a bunch of different sources to create a 'master list'.
