Man, Fest needs to rearrange some of the venues. Feel like the Wooly shows were always over capacity and 8 Seconds was always below capacity.

Overall a lot of fun... next Fest will be my 5th! (12, 13, 15, 17)

The balcony kinda hides how big 8 seconds is, not to mention a lot of people avoid it because of the indoor smoking.

8 seconds sucks ass and you can only see if you're near the front, maybe thats wy it isnt full....

aside: I ran into the singer from No Trigger Tom and he told me they're planning on touring California this winter and I about lost my mind

I actually didn’t end up at 8 Seconds one time the whole weekend

Would love a new No Trigger album...Love that band. Also heard talk of A Wilhelm Scream bringing out a new record next year.

Also heard Florida Theatre would be returning as a venue next year.

My Fest has been my best in the 8 years I have been going.

well I just saw the guitarist from AWS post that he got the building permit for what I believe to be his new studio so yeah hopefully that means new record soon, I know they had a lot of setbacks on it

I live alllll the way up here in the Pacific NW and it’s been a dream of mine for years to attend Fest. Barring any unforeseen setbacks, I want to go next year (and hopefully a few more beyond that). Absolutely my kind of “fantasy” weekend.

I saw Jimmy and Chris from PBC walking around a couple times this year but didnt talk to them, my bad.
Less Than Jake just kicked out/had their shitty drummer Vinnie leave so idk what they'll do next. Theyll be a far superior live band though. Suicide MAchines said at a show I saw recently that they have a new record which is done and I think going to be on Fat.

Dude was one of the worst touring drummers I have ever seen. Ive seen them so many times and when I've watched them on stage I can physically FEEL him slowing down the rest of the band down. Ooof. Going to be interesting since he wrote a lot of their music.

I figure it's a matter of time until Polar Bear Club gets back together, even if it's just for a show or two... They're one of the bands that could easily bring me out of "Fest retirement." Of course, I said the same thing about the Stereo and the Gamits. So. Basically I just drop the ball on that shit...

Great that the Suicide Machines might be putting something out on Fat, but uh what the fuck is up with Less Than Jake and Vinnie? He was their primary songwriter, so I can see that having a negative impact on the songs... Where did this news/info come from?

I'm real confused. As of October 26th he was still tweeting shit about Less Than Jake, and I'm seeing zero news about him being out of the band... And they're on tour in Europe right now.

I just wonder how much PBC Jimmy is able to sing since I think his voice has changed a lot??

This has been my question for a while. The last show they played in Buffalo, he said that he went to the doctor and had everything checked with his voice/throat and that he was still able to sing the way he did. Then the newest album came out and they pretty much disappeared.

I'm told that Vinnie bailed and their TM Matt Yonker is doing drums for them going forward.

Unless something is happening to 8 seconds or bo diddly there is no good reason to bring the Florida Theater back its such a god awful venue.

    Hey, This is Vinnie-
Before this upcoming tour begins I’d like to let fans know that I won’t be there drumming.
I’ve been touring for 27 years of my adult life, 27 years of my Less Than Jake family, 27 years of new friends made for life, and 27 years of endless sing alongs. As the balance of life versus touring life collides, I’ve decided to step away from the touring side of the band. I’ll still be around, just not on stage. Still supporting the thing I love, still doing the same things I’ve always done for the band while not on tour, and still passionate about something created in a small Florida town 27 years ago.

Well, it’s been a wild ride. Our brother, Vinnie, has decided to step out from behind the drums. As he said, he’ll still be a part of the machine moving forward and for that we are grateful. We’d like for you all to welcome Matt Yonker who will be drumming for Less Than Jake as we start this next chapter. Matt used to play in one of our favorite bands, Teen Idols. We met him over 20 years ago and he has been a part of the LTJ family for about 17 of those years, first working with us as a merchandise person, then stage manager, sound technician, tour manager and day to day manager. He was our first and only logical choice to fill the drum position. As a lot of you already know him, we are sure he’ll be welcomed with open arms. We can’t wait to see all our fans on this upcoming tour! Much love, Chris, Roger, Buddy and JR

story is that one day Matt was sound checking drums, and the band was like ,,,,,holy shit we sound so good with someone who can actually play fast, and Vinnie caught word of this and threw a fit and told them he was done touring.

Just found this stuff on FB, myself. Haha. I'm glad he'll be a part of the band still behind the scenes or not... Writing songs and such.

And I'm hopeful that the new guy is a fast drummer!

I feel like they talk about Florida Theatre coming back every year since they closed it. I love Bo Diddly, but the best part about FTOG is that there's no 10pm curfew. The 10pm curfew on outdoor venues turns the late night shows into a shitfest with lines, especially when it's at Loosey's or Boca Fiesta outside (Boca Fiesta has the worst policy where if you have to go to the bathroom, you lose your admission and have to stay in line again).

It would be nice to have a large crowd inside for an 11pm set to keep the other stuff at or below capacity.

What I heard is that the Florida Theatre is under new ownership and it has/is been revamped. If so I would use it and drop 8 Seconds. God awful venue!
