I’m more sad that the origin of the titanic music started in dodgers fandom lol

Yeah if I were to guess I bet you see them sign Happ, Corbin and then make a trade with some of their prospects for a cost controlled starter (i.e. like what they did with Sonny Gray that didn't end up working out).

2 days removed from the World Series and I’m already looking for Red Sox off-season outlooks.

    Sox FAs will be:
    Craig Kimbrel
    Nathan Eovaldi
    Drew Pomeranz
    Joe Kelly
    Ian Kinsler
    Steve Pearce

Eduardo Nunez has a player option for $5 million that he'll probably take. Sox have tough decisions to make about whether they want to tender contracts to Tyler Thornburg and Carson Smith (who might be out for all of 2019).

Sox obviously need to get some pen arms and probably another middle infielder since who knows what they'll get from Dustin Pedroia moving forward, although Marco Hernandez is an interesting name to watch for with him coming back from injury. You'd think they will trade a catcher whether it be Swihart, Leon or Vazquez this offseason since I can't see them going with 3 catchers during the year again and I strongly feel Swihart should be the starter. They need to sign/trade for at least 1 starting pitcher.

With that being said I would love to bring back Eovaldi, Kelly and Pearce but I fear with their play this offseason they might have priced themselves out. I would let Kimbrel walk. Not sure what the Sox payroll is projected to be right now and how much they have to work with.

I want Eovaldi back. I don't think Pearce has priced himself away. He's mid-late 30s and really just got insanely hot for a week. Granted, it was the best. But i can't imagine him earning an extra $10 million because of a week. Kelly, I want back at all cost. Kinsler can go to hell. Kimbrel can walk. D.J. LeMahieu is an interesting name as a 2b option.

I'm taking more about years than dollar amount. It would be nice to get him at a 1 year deal for like 5 million as he would be a great platoon partner for Moreland in his last year of his current deal.

Eovaldi probably gets a 4 year deal for $60 million somewhere, not sure if the Sox would be comfortable with that figure based on his age and past arm issues.

If Kelly truly turned it around and is the pitcher we saw in the first 2 months and last month then I agree, you have to sign him at all cost.

I don't think LeMahieu would come here if there wasn't a guarantee he would be an everyday starter.

Kershaw going to leave us to make this World Series loss even worse :tear:

Might not be a bad thing. He's owed $70.2 million for the next two seasons, is entering his age 31 season, has had health issues the last 3 years. Velocity was down almost 2 mph this year, Ks per 9 is down. Don't get me wrong he's still a pretty good pitcher when healthy, especially in the NL, but probably not the best pitcher on the planet anymore. The main issue would be what would the Dodgers do with the 35 million coming off the books and who would they replace him with.

My wanting Joe Kelly has nothing to do with his talent. I just like a crazy person.

Would a team give Kershaw like 3/75 or 4/80ish? That's the only way I could see him opt out. His back has to be such a concern and it's like guaranteed he misses at least a month every year at this point. With spotty playoff performance too. I'm not familiar with his velocity but I wondered if that was an issue too.
