  1. I told you before the season started, it’s not realistic to keep winning consistently with a bad QB. You can’t rely on historically elite defense every year.

    I think so.

It’s not like Bates had much to work with today, but his gameplans are weird and bad most weeks.

It's probably better now for the long run that the jets try not to fuck up darnold and punt the season. That trumaine Johnson deal looks pretty damn bad right now but the rest were fine and it'll be curious what they'll do with the cap space. Not sure where mccagnan will find an OT but he definitely needs to.

The tackles are fine. Brandon Shell is actually really good. Kelvin Beachum isn’t a long term option but he can hold the fort.

The center and guards are all terrible. Carp is gone after this year and they can get out of Spencer Long’s contract after this season.

Sucks that Tru is hurt. That was always the concern with him. Wasting money on a player that lives in the tub.

The skill players have to be upgraded around Darnold. Herndon looks like a steal and Robby has a role with this team as long as he stays out of trouble, but the rest have to be upgraded.

N’Keal Harry has to be towards the top of Maccagnan’s wish list.

    oh well

  9. James Conner is such a beast. Over 200 all purpose yards yesterday and 2 TDs.

9 rushing TDs so far this year, Bell's best season was 9 (last year).

Not as many receptions as Bell would get (or TDs), but more efficient. 10.4 yards per reception compared to Bell's 7.7 last year.

His cap hit next year is 845K and 935K in 2020. Such a fraction of the cost for similar production. Now I'm not saying he is better than Bell, but but the cost benefit is much better.

A 32 year old speed receiver is vital to the future of the team that's starting Ryan Fitzpatrick?

Teams have won the Superbowl with worse.

Keep in mind this injured Jags squad doesn’t have a line, running game, OR receivers OR TE. Add in painfully predictable playcalling with a lot of obvious reads as well. It is on Bortles but it’s not JUST Bortles, ALL (and I really mean ALL) of our healthy skill position players are backups right now.

Teams are able to really get a jump on what our offense is trying to do, especially with no balance in the running game and no reliable way to convert short yardage. Especially with a third string LT that keeps allowing sacks that end drives.

Our backup WR also can’t beat press, and have been dropping passes like crazy. We had two TD dropped last game and 4 third down conversions dropped the game before that.

A healthy Jags team can win despite Bortles. At our current state however, we’ve been forced to rely on him, which is a very different story.

Like, right now TJ Yeldon is our best offensive player. Our BEST one. And dumbass Hack has been giving him 10-12 touches tops.

I literally told you this would happen

"They're close! Their starting qb is a puddle of garbage and threw 4 picks while having the best receiving core in the league. They give up 35 points a game. They're close!" Lol

the dumb gm dance is a hell of a thing

So how did Washington only put up 20 points on that pathetic Giants team ?

Exactly what I’ve been saying. Conner, like Antonio Brown, shows you can strike gold if you trust team chemistry and you trust “next man up”

Steelers find ways to seamlessly replace every star player that leaves the team. It’s pretty impressive.

I keep telling myself that they will fall apart but I don't think they will. They have such a cake schedule.

Weirdly, the answer is Alex Smith. Even with injuries, he hasnt looked very good overall.

I think there's a real question of it it was worth trading a starting CB for what has been about replacement level QB play. Or, why they thought Doctson/Richardson/Crowder was worthy of being a starting trio even if healthy.

Although I think the thing that amazes me most is AP. He's doing what a bunch of their draft picks couldnt do behind essentially the same line.

Yeah how could anyone possibly think Alex Smith would be any good without Andy Reid :teethsmile:

    Madden ratings

    QB
    Bortles - 74

    RB
    Yeldon - 82 (Second string)

    **Missing: Fournette (90), Grant (77)**

    TE
    Grinnage - 68 (third string)

**Missing: ASJ (83), Niles Paul (76)**

    WR
    Moncrief - 77
    Westbrook - 75
    Cole - 72
    Chark - 67

    (2nd through 5th string)

**Missing: Lee (80) - we really should’ve resigned ARob (84)**

    OT
    Josh Walker, LT - 61 (3rd string)
    Jermey Parnell, RT - 72

**Missing: LT Cam Robinson (85) and his backup Josh Wells (72)

The only silver lining is, I’d give our interior line an average of between 84-85, Linder and Norwell are good but underperforming, Cann is decent, not good not bad

I made all those up but that is literally the Jaguars offense right now

I still don't understand why Alex Smith gets talked about as if he's a bad quarterback. He's not Brees or Rodgers or Stafford, but he's good and has lead multiple different teams to winning records and the playoffs for about 7 years now.

I'm not surprised at all that they're 5-2 and leading the division.
