When it gets picked up by another platform the new season will address being cancelled by Netflix and it’ll be awesome

  7. Had this same thought, I really hope it get an picked up elsewhere so we can all revel in the pettiness of the meta Netflix joke that is sure to be made

If they had been like "we're ending this because there is only so far you can take a joke without killing it and we don't have strong enough ideas for a third season" I've totally understood. But the fact that the creators are still shopping it around makes the move baffling

i had a season 3 idea that was them in college investigating some weird frat or sorority as some sort of wild wild country parody.

there better be a season 3 somehow that is.

Maybe they reached a tipping point. They've recently cancelled Iron Fist & Luke Cage also.

I wouldn't say they "never" cancel shows; they do it all the time. They crank out so many new shows on a regular basis where they have to in order to stay sustainable

Idk for a while (maybe until like the last 2 years or so) it felt like they were just renewing everything so that they could build up their library. Good point about the Marvel shows though, that definitely didnt work out.

Bummed to hear this was cancelled, but I understand this is due to an issue with production rights rather than ratings.

I loved season one, and just started season two last night. Didn't realize that it took place in my hometown, lol. That's a fun little detail for me. The sheer amount of detail this show goes into is on a whole other level.

This is one of those shows I love on a deep level and I absolutely cannot convince anyone I know to watch it. Every time, I explain the premise and everyone is like “hmm maybe” and I’m like “dude it’s so much deeper than it sounds, just watch it, trust me” and they’re like “ehhh I dunno” and I’m like “just watch it you IDIOT, I know what’s good for you, GOD”.

I think the best comparison for this show is Community. Especially during its peak, Community was coming up with some insane concepts that were funny because of the absurdity of it. This does that, but at the same time the characters take the situations as seriously as a murder. It creates this incredible environment that very few shows can come close to.

  21. Yeah especially in the first season, it's a tough pitch because the joke seems so shallow. The magic comes from the characters (both how they're written and how they're portrayed), the release of info, and the determination to stick to the bit.

Just watched both seasons in a few days and reading through this thread, I’m surprised seeing posts in this thread commenting in s2’s seriousness / darkness at the end but not s1’s. The actual crime was way more disturbing, but DeMarcus and Kevin both came out of it for the better. In season 1, Dylan ended up losing his most intimate relationship and resigning himself to being a fuck-up. Plus the scene where Sarah confronts Peter about how he so recklessly divulged everyone’s personal information that ended up being immaterial to the investigation (she hooked up with Pat Mickelwaite?!?!?!). Dylan was exonerated, but in pretty much every other respect they ended up causing more harm than good

I can't fucking believe S2 has been out for almost a year at this point and I finally just now got around to watching it (I guess I'm the reason it was cancelled?). I absolutely loved S1 but this one was even better. The story was even more compelling than the first season imo, the characters were a lot better and more well-rounded, and the social commentary is genuinely profound. I said it when the first season came out but this is easily the most accurate depiction of high school in modern times that I've ever seen, and this one just got it on an even deeper level. What a fucking shame that there will be no more of this, it's a legitimately genius show

It's also still fucking hilarious, forgot to mention lol
