The bigger question is whether it'll be better than Dog Eating Dogs. ; )

I don't expect it to top Neighborhoods for me, as Tom was always my favorite part of blink. That and modern pop punk isn't my bag. I'm expecting to like it a lot, but not on the same level as the last three blink releases.

Steer clear of Reddit for a bit then. They've done a complete 180 and turned against blink. Feldmann is the current target.

I actually don't mind DED that much

Exactly this. I enjoy both songs quite a bit. Neighborhoods doesn't even compare.

Curious, how do you feel about the "throwback" songs that were on Neighborhoods like MH 4.18 and This is Home?

Went back and listened to "After Midnight". It just won't stop growing on me. Top 5 blink song.

If only they had made a full record in that vein... Obviously with faster songs as well. I just mean taking the Cure vibe further. (One could say self-titled already did that, I simply wanted more.)

Say what you will about Neighborhoods, but After Midnight has, and always will be, a great blink song.

If it wasn't for the joke jongs ("Brohemian Rhapsody" is disgusting and an awful way to close the record), Neighborhoods and California would be pretty equal for me, so far.

"Up All Night" > "Bored To Death" (Really close. There's a good chance this will change over time.)
"Heart's All Gone" < "Rabbit Hole"

Apparently blink is playing Bethesda's E3 conference

Wow. I just glanced at Reddit and they're going crazy over the lack of guitar riffs. While I agree to some extent, I much prefer the friendlier confines of Chorus.

I like them, because they still feel like a progression. MH has the dark metaphors of later Mark songs and Home is super synth heavy w/ an 80's influenced melody via Tom. I feel like Untitled through Dogs is a progression into a unique brand of stadium rock and I was very excited about where that was going.

I don't see why every blink song NEEDS to have a distinct riff. Besides, there's no spot for a riff in this song with the way it's structured. It starts out immediately with the first verse, and they wrote a post chorus rather than reverting back to a main riff after a chorus like most typical songs.

You don't need one for every song, but the two songs we've heard so far haven't had a single noteworthy riff.

I think This Is Home is my dead last ranked blink song. Tom's lyrics in that are utter garbage to me, I always skip that song.

Bored to Death does have a riff, in the intro that continues throughout the verses. Whether you think it's "noteworthy" or not is all opinion. Also, there's 12 more full songs we haven't heard yet so maybe you should reserve judgment until we've heard the full thing.

haha I agree about the lyrics, but the chorus is catchy to me and I have a soft spot for that song. Love is Dangerous will always be dead last for me.

I responded to your previous point to explain why people are going crazy. And yes, we're all hopeful that the rest of the album can deliver.

I think Mark's backing vocals in the chorus is what keeps Love out of the last spot for me haha.

Top 3 on Neighborhoods are Kaleidoscope, Wishing Well and Heart's All Gone
