    Truthfully it's not THAT bad...it just causes you to be extremely mindful of the shit you're putting in your body and eliminating a lot of things that you normally wouldn't think twice about.

    This is my second time doing it and well...it works if you can stay disciplined on it.

    Keto is not a good diet unless you legitimately need to do it for medical reasons.

    It really depends. For me it's never been that bad. The worst thing I dealt with was shitty leg cramps for about two days but I just upped my sodium intake (pickle juice!) and was fine within 48 hours or so. Some people get all kinds of sick like flu symptoms and shit but I've never had any of that.

    It can be for sure. There are a few ways to go about doing keto and if you are consuming quadruple cheeseburgers (no bun, of course) and other foods high in saturated fats then over time it can do serious damage. But if you opt for healthier fats while cutting out the bulk of your carbs (i.e. avocados which I eat like it's a religion, fatty types of fish, cheese, eggs, etc.) then it's fine.

    The first round I did this on, I had regular blood work done by my PCP and was given the all clear each time.

    To be fair, I also workout 5-6 times a week with cardio (rowing/spinning) or weights and am mindful in tracking of what exactly I am consuming.

    I am also not obesely overweight. I think if you are obese and already have heart issues or other internal organ problems then yeah, I'd be much more cautious about doing something like that. Anyway, I felt really good doing it the first time around but realized that it's not something that I am going to be able to sustain (nor do I want to) but it's good for me in spurts. I'll do it this time around for a few months and then up my carb intake but still keep it at a lower than average level.

    I've also over the past few years dabbled around with different diets (keto, low carb (not keto), Mediterranean, etc.).

    These are two of the most important things about the diet that I've heard of a lot of people neglecting to do. I cannot imagine doing keto while not exercising at all. And yeah, doing it for periods of time is good too. My roommate was recommended she do that.
