I don’t post in here often but I just felt compelled to share how my Halloween season has been going.

The wife and I had to leave Panama City after Michael hit because we had no power or water.

Went with family in Virginia and ended up getting to see a double feature of the original Halloween and the new Halloween movie at a drive in theater. That was a lot of fun.

Now we have power and water so we came back because thank goodness we had no significant damage. However, we don’t have cable or internet and accidentally left my Xbox one at a friends house. So we hooked up our old DVD/VCR combo to our living room tv to watch some horror movies on DVD.

Here’s the kicker; for some reason the DVD player is playing all movies in black and white. I don’t know why. So, we’ve got to watch Halloween (zombie version), Friday the 13th remake, Wrong Turn, The Hill’s Have Eyes (remake), and Nightmare on Elm Street all in black and white.

It’s been a lot of fun.

Nice. Sounds like a good time for sure. My condolences on the hurricane. Despite being lucky to have minimal damage, I’m sure while you were evacuated and waiting to hear something or go back must have been crazy stressful. Glad you were able to get some enjoyment out of it all

My road is beyond fucked Up. But fortunately all my friends and family are good.

These two night have been bright spots in an otherwise stressful event. Thanks.

Anyone here seen House from 1986? I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it as I was expecting bare minimum scary house horror cliches and there was way more to it than that.

Just watched Apostle. I dug, would have liked some more backstory on when they first got to island and found the stuff they found, but I dug.

I just watched House of 1000 Corpses for the first time and it almost fuckin ruled. I liked the first half with the storm more than the big boss fight at the end. Really liked the editing too. I’ll probably check out at least Devil’s Rejects before the month is up.

Just watched The Devil’s Rejects. I actually liked Corpses more, but Rejects is definitely the “better” film. I already feel like I’d like it more on a second watch

watched Summer of 84 on Shudder last night. maybe some story areas that weren't the strongest or could've used a little more fleshing out, overall I thought it was really good and dug it.

Finally got around to watching The Endless.

It was......not good? Was really expecting more out of it.

I went into this blind and actually ended up really enjoying it. I can definitely see how people wouldn't like it though.

I guess on paper it's something I'd love. I think I went in with too high of expectations. I found myself almost turning it off, because I didn't care about the "mystery" and the acting of the two mains (writers/directors) was rough as hell.
