Also, yeah, album's not bad. Terrible title, but it's as solid as the EPs.

They’re a super talented group, and I enjoy the classic feel to their jams — but I feel like a majority of comments I’ve seen elsewhere are either “they ape Zeppelin” or “they’re here to save rock & roll!” No middle ground, either one opinion or the other.

Will listen to the new LP later today, but hope people don’t put too much pressure on them. Would like to see how GVF develops over the next few years.

I turned this off about halfway through. These guys, as good as they are, just don't do a whole lot for me. Which is saying something, because classic rock is right up my wheelhouse. Hopefully it'll click later.

    I dig it.
Seeing them live pushed them over the edge for me. Super talented for how young they are

Led Zeppelin also stole like half their music lol and the rest is just Robert Plant talking about Lord Of The Rings

I’d rather see Robert Plants lame ass solo project live than this band

This album is a lot of fun.

The unnecessary hate for this band is not.

That Pitchfork review was an embarrassment and I like Jeremy and usually respect his opinions on music.

cool, listen to albert lee instead. or sonny williamson. or blind willie mctell. or son house. or leadbelly.

you don’t have to pull for a third-generation derivative band by claiming the band they’re ripping off also ripped off other people lol. you really don’t.

    The rivalry is back on

I’d maybe get it if the pop music landscape was being littered with 70s revival bands, but they’re a fun one off that might spark a couple more similar bands in the next couple years who try to play off GVF’s success.

I really don't even like the album that much. But the review is embarrassing all around.

Let's not forget, it's their debut album. Led Zeppelin's debut was primarily covers and re-arrangements of existing blues and folk songs, and most bands' debut albums sound a lot like their influences. This one admittedly moreso than others, but still, they're obviously talented and deserve a chance to continue to develop.

Also of all the bad indie rock bands that site reviews, THIS is the one they call out for a lack of technical skill, lol

Agreed. The whole tone of it reeks of the worst of Pitchfork condescension.
