Packers should just trade the 1st because we all know they forgot how to draft that early

 

Cooper would be the Jags #1.

 

This is all totally valid and could end up being right, but even with Cooper being a high end WR2, that’s already better than anyone we have now, haha

Signing a FA WR is what we would have done anyways and I think their thinking is use this trade to kick his tires and see if he fits or not in our system. If so, sign him to however much and if not, then cut him at no additional cost and hope we hit later in the draft.

I’m not in love with the trade by any means, but I understand what they’re doing and I’d rather be aggressive and miss than do nothing but have Butler and Thompson run eight yard curl routes for the last half of the season and trust Garrett’s “process” forever.

 

EASILY but that’s not the point

I’d still be really pissed if we gave up a first rounder for him. Like fuck improving Bortles we need that pick for a QB, if not this year then trade down with the pick so we have ammo to trade up for a QB next year.

Unless you’re trading for like Randy Moss, a WR who would by himself give you the spark to win several more games, it’s better to go the cheaper and more long term route.

Doesn’t shock me Bell doesn’t want to be traded. He knows he can put up stats on the Steelers lol

I’ve been thinking about it some more and I think they’ll keep Conner in the mix regularly. Maybe like 60/40 of rushes for Bell/Conner and they can line him up as a WR too. Hell maybe Bell will appreciate that. I think the locker room and fans are too behind Conner to just give Bell the entire workload

 

If Namath is the big example it probably isn't a great example to be fair

Stabler was better IMO but the raiders were always stacked so it's hard to judge, also had a longer career

A 1st and half a million dollars now to see if he’s good enough to sign long term versus signing him in free agency to a large contract without knowing idea he fits in our system.

 

Imagine if we signed him to a Sammy Watkins-like contract in March and he ends up being shit. That would hurt our cap much worse than doing it this way.

 

Seems no one wants to take the red pill and consider the possibility the Steelers keep Bell inactive and say fuck you we like Conner and he’s committed to us

James Washington has not developed yet so Bell should be the wr3 imo

 

Me a lot with the Jags. It’s cool. We’re all smart guys but we’re also all fans with at least a little obvious bias lol

 

Honestly I'm probably biased against my own team in every sport

Texans could go 9-0 to start the season and I'd be anticipating losing the division to the 10-6 Colts

But I also don’t think this trade is “the sky is falling” levels of stupidity.
