An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

wow it is super super uncomfortable listening to Sherri and their kids sing on a song about the lead character murdering his gay lover

In my experience people who say “I don’t care” actually care very much, lol.

so yeah, I associate Say Anything going to shit with Sherri being included. Again, I like Eisley.

Surprised they haven’t put the outtakes on their kickstarter reward.

You consider Cemetery the start of SA going to shit? That’s an amazing song

Yeah, the first song she was on is the best song they ever put out. I see your logic.

sherri’s also on “overbiter” the best song on anarchy. if anything she rescues them from being shit

convenient to blame a woman bc you suddenly dislike your favorite band or whatever

Not sure why Sherri is part of this conversation at all... if you want to decide what you don't like about Say Anything, I suggest discussing Say Anything

Max has always been on a constant decline since the release of IARB or, arguably, IDOTG. Sherri has been such a positive influence in his life and is most certainly not the cause of SA's "demise".

I'm assuming they meant it was a correlation, not a causation.

Daze, Pink Snot, Ew Jersey are my favorites. Not sure how I feel about the album as a whole though, will need a few more listens. I do wish some of the songs were longer (Certain Audience) . The Band Fuel does absolutely nothing for me though.

Listened a bunch of times now, I really like this as a whole. I guess some of the songs could be longer but it doesn't bother me when I'm listening in order.

That's the best song they ever put out? No way. Anything from..Is Real Boy is better than everything they put out since. Cemetery is better than Alive With The Glory of Love? Woe? The Futile? I Want to Know Your Plans? Admit It?.....But seriously, what I originally said is I dislike anything after their self titled. This is from their self titled. An album I enjoyed. My original question is when did she start singing with them. So this song is cool, everything after sucked in comparison.

Not my favorite band, and not blaming a women. Just thinking I enjoyed Max being angry and woe is me, over being happy and married. Good for him in his life, bad for making music.

Yeah? I'm happy for him and his life. Good for him. But what's better artistically? Happy Max and the album "I Don't Think It Is?" or anxiety prone unhappy Max "Is A Real Boy"?

This album is definitely below Hebrews, imo. Hebrews is his best stuff since ST and I'd say it's almost as good as the ST.

I'm only 2 listens in with this one, so who knows. But this feels kind of low-effort album, to echo someone else's sentiments in the thread. Nothing super grabbed me on my first(mildly distracted) listens. Time to dive back in though!

I’m sure I should know better than to stir this pot, but can’t a person dislike musical input separate from the gender the input is coming from?

I love Sherri’s contributions almost every time, but it’s not because she’s a woman, it’s because she’s a talented vocalist who contrasts Max well. Someone can be free to dislike her contributions without it being “convenient to blame a woman”, and I’m not sure how you even mentally came to that conclusion or why everyone rushes to support it.

This site is so needlessly divisive.

It was because the implication is that her doing occasional guest vocals in songs made the whole band go downhill, which is a lot different than I just don’t like her additions on say anything songs. The original poster maybe didn’t mean to imply it was the cause but just something they assiociated in their heads, but as these things can lose their tone over text and the fact that it’s not unusual for people to say that a women ruined a man’s success in music, that is why it was said. It’s not needlessly divisive, it was a slight miscommunication and what was heard is not an unrelatistic statement from others, unfortunately
