this is one case where ignorance is probably absolute bliss.

On a random side note, here's a grind release from No/Mas out of DC that I came across yesterday and loved on first listen:

Their best song was the Underworld soundtrack one. My hot take.

I was supposed to see Decrepit Birth tonight but apparently the singer broke his leg stage diving the other night.

Arsis, Internal Bleeding, Pyrexia, Angelmaker, Within Destruction and I Am Destruction are still playing, but it's an outdoor show and it's like 40 degrees and raining right now, so I'm probably gonna skip the whole thing :(

Been listening to Advent a lot more again lately. Oddly one of 3 heavier bands I love despite not being religious.

    random stuff:

I had enough points at my local music store to pick up Painkiller by Judas Priest for free (it was $6 lol). I forgot how goddamn good that album is. Every song is pure speed infused metal. Here's one of my favs:

I've been going back through Moonsorrow's discography and fell asleep to their 2007 album last night (not even gonna try to format the title here bc I'm lazy). It's basically two long 25+ minute atmoblack songs. It was very soothing:

And the new Vanhelgd album came out last week for fans of Swedish death/doom with more death than doom. Their album from 2016 was decent but never stuck with me, this one stood out right away:

Huge bummer. He was easily the strongest part of the band. Solid guitarist. Rest in peace.

Hell of a guitar player, incredible person to be able to put up with Phil’s bullshit for longer than any human being should.

This Darkened Heart and Fall of Ideals both rule. Behind Silence and Solitude is cool too. The stuff that came after very much pales in comparison, but I still think they have some solid stuff on all of their records. It just diminishes as they go on, with the exception of For We Are Many, which was almost a return to form.

This song from their latest record was really dope but the other single was enough for me to not want to listen to the rest of the album.

Co-signing the Horrendous praise on here. Almost slipped under my radar, but I gave it a listen last night before going to sleep, and it’s really something. Some neat bass playing on there.

went back and spun some older all that remains today and it should be mentioned they've always had solid riffs and oli herbert was definitely a skilled musician and the best part of that band. really sad loss.
