I won’t put this on loop but I could totally see myself turning up the volume if this came on on the car radio, I’ll say that much

I’d also rather listen to this 40 times than a Drake album

I like Sheck Wes so much more than I expected to

His album has a similar vibe to Trap Lord by A$AP Ferg for me

HOW DARE YOU COMPARE IT TO TRAP LORD. THAT HAS MADE ME CAPS LOCK ANGRY.

I like Trap Lord way better lol, the vibes of the album are similar though. Kind of a dark, atmospheric type trap. They both sound "wintery" to me

I listened to his album, and most of it was fine but I really do not like Mo Bamba

It's just his voice gets so monotonous (for the most part) I was expecting a beat switch or something but it's just... there

You gotta admire his hustle, though. Getting famous off the back of having only a modicum of musical ability and a terrible singing voice.

I really don’t understand the mo bamba love. The beat is hot but he’s completely flat on the hook. His voice is painful(!!!) to listen to, it honestly seems like parody. Are the rest of his songs like that?

Mo Bamba slaps but the vocals are awful lol

    Just a friendly reminder

'Mo Bamba' is great because it's fun to sing "I'VE GOT HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOESSSS CAAAAALLLLLINNN" and the beat slaps. It's like eating straight Fun-Dip dust.

This whole song and the discussion around it now reminds me of Laffy Taffy which is honestly a classic

I think people should stop over-intellectualzing songs that are “simple” but cool only because snobs (not anyone here) look down on them. Who cares, if it’s cool it’s cool. Then again those 40,000 Fader articles they publish daily have to be about something.

I can say from other songs that that guy can totally rap.

I did eventually check out his other songs and I understand the Trap Lord comparison though if anything he's a baby Ferg. His other songs are definitely better than Mo Bamba. Maybe it just hasn't clicked for me yet.

Speaking of forgotten gems, I listened to Large Pro’s 2008 album “Main Source” for the first time in many years today in the car and damn that’s a good album
