I mean, lots of solid receivers over the years don’t really have the explosive speed to create wide separation, and instead win with physicality. Look at Alshon Jeffery. ARob showed the potential to one day become an elite possession receiver, if a QB continually gave him those kinds of opportunities. Unfortunately now he’s not even getting to practice that at the catch point very often.

It’s not like ARob is a bad route runner, he can get enough room to make a catch.... but Trubisky is pretty conservative and isn’t gonna even try to throw in that kind of window and trust his receiver.

 

Also ARob is the only good receiver on that team. When the alternative is making Taylor Gabriel and that overpaid TE that I can’t remember his name beat you, seems like an easy choice

 

Also I have a more difficult time to coming around to anyone who perform or have associated to animal cruelty. It’s mostly because these said animals have no way for the most part to defend themselves.

Oh I completely agree, that's why most of these players do what they do because of who they are and know they can get away with it.

 

Easy conclusion to come to if you’re unwilling to criticize Trubisky

ARob needs an aggressive QB who trusts him in order to show out what he does best. He is just another guy if you’re waiting around for him to get wide open and trying to throw safe throws to him.

You're just making excuses for him hahaha. If you need a guy who is willing to throw bad passes because you can't get any separation, then that's the fault of the receiver, not the QB

 

Not “bad passes.” Extending a players catch radius actually requires precision and an ability to move your crosshairs off center and throw to a “spot”.

For example Stafford gets the most out of Golladay by intentionally throwing off target. You think he’d be nearly as good if he wasn’t getting thrown challenging passes while he was covered? Half of his yards are contested throws that only he can reach and the defender can’t.

That’s what ARob needs to succeed. You’re also being wildly critical given the context - fresh off ACL surgery, new team & playbook, a below average QB whose style clashes with his, etc.

Well I still disagree with the notion we did right by giving 10 mill to Lee instead of 12 mill to him. And his low numbers on an offense that doesn’t utilize the skill he was literally drafted for don’t change my mind. I feel Trubisky is a bad fit and you can ignore that point if you want but it’s a significant detail for me.

Is he a WR you want to throw to in every situation, no. Sure you want a speed receiver on the other side to counter his flaws. But damn if it’s not a lot easier to convert on third down and in the redzone when you have a guy who can leap and outmuscle people for the ball so well.

 

Chicago is doing better with him than we're doing. And he's not helping very much. Plus Bortles would constantly force it to Robinson. If anything Bortles is better off without that kind of player.

 

Not that this guides my opinion at all but an extra reason why I’m salty: my only actual good quality Jags jersey that isn’t a cheap knockoff is an Allen Robinson jersey

I don’t begrudge second chances, but for athletes who rape/assault/abuse women, the punishment and rehabilitation they face is either inadequate or non-existent, and their platform gives them fame, money, and a platform to be idolized and idealized. 4-6 game suspensions and fines do not equate their crimes, especially when they are able to skirt them and any legitimate scrutiny most of the time.
