All I'm saying is when I think of blink-182, I don't think of their guitar riffs. Doesn't mean they suck or aren't there - just not the first thing to pop into my head when they come up.

  2. I never said that. At all. I know reading is hard, but god damn.

Seems a lot of people are having problems reading what you wrote, huh

  4. Literally what I am saying in the post you quoted me ....
    Nope, never said that.

  5. People are dumb online: news at 11.

  6. You know who has some great riffs that also no one talks about? Lagwagon.

That's fine then. I'm getting lost in this "debate" anymore anyway. I don't know who triggered it, but I was just pointing out that I'm looking forward to some memorable guitar parts beyond the straightforward powerchords. I hope it happens, and if it doesn't, I'll still have plenty of Travis to dig into.

    and a little jingle...

This new song(or the last one) doesn't do it for me. The contrast between Mark and Matt's vocals isn't enough to benefit the song.

I'm thinking this album's gonna be a fail, imo. I'd be more receptive, I think, if they put this out under +44 or a different moniker. But as of now imo....these feel like the weakest, most uninspired, songs B182 has put out in awhile.

Agree with what someone else said before, it's nice to hear that outro in all of its glory. I keep hearing the final whoa-"oh" as "Hoooooole" haha

Not sure how the definition of "stand out" translates to "difficult" for you.

For most people, stand out is typically used to refer to something that is recognizable, easily distinguishable, or easily identified.

There's different ways to have "good guitar riffs". Blink's guitar parts aren't the most original or technically difficult, but they still somehow did a great job carving out a few iconic riffs and influencing a shit ton of people to play guitar. Pretty impressive for playing such simplistic music.

If I'm going to call bands "great guitar bands" in this genre, it'd be Rufio, Lagwagon, Strung Out. But those bands haven't inspired nearly as many guitar players. Just the way it is.

That's fine if that's what "Stand out" means to you. I'm just saying, like others, that blink aren't known for incredible/creative riffs. No one's saying that they aren't memorable or iconic.

  16. One of the places Green Day always kicked their ass. Poor Mark.

Blink and Trio are basically tied as my favorite bands ever, depends on the day who is first. There is not a single day I have ever thought Tom is a better songwriter than Skiba. Especially up through Crimson, like not even close. If you don't like Trio's vibe or style, that's one thing.

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean the album is gonna fail.

  19. I keep looking at the ages of people that think all the Blink-182 guitar parts are iconic and then realizing that virtually none of you were raised in an era where guitars were on the radio all the time and guitars were literally everywhere you turned. Then the people that are like "wait, what?" are all around my age. Makes more sense now.

Yeah, all signs are showing that this album and tour are going to be a huge success. This is maybe blink's largest tour ever, and could be their most successful. Kind of nuts

Really? I feel like guitars were on the radio for the first 15 years of my life, and then I stopped listening to the radio.
