Whatever happened with that movie The House That Jack Built? I remember being hyped about it earlier this year and then never heard anything after the festival premiere.

I've seen Come Out And Play, which is a Mexican remake of it. Haven't seen the original

That was the new Lars van Trier right? Or however you spell his name. I think it went around a few festivals, but I haven’t heard anything about distribution. I’m sure someone will eventually pick it up. It’s definitely been a while since any news has been dropped on it.

it's slooowwwww, so someone who gets bored easily will likely not be into it. it's the type of movie that you just let wash over you and take in every visual and sound as it fills you with dread and depression. I drove home in silence afterwards. loved it haha.

Starting to read A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay. Heard good things but haven't written anything non-fantasy in years.

Ive still got so much Cronenberg to see

Ive only seen Fly, Videodrome, Naked Lunch, Scanners, and Existenz. That last one really sucked.

Ive really wanted to see Crash it sounds so delightfully absurd

A Dangerous Method, Eastern Promises, History of Violence, Cosmpolis, and Maps to the Stars look really good

    how is Dead Zone?

    that could be cool

Oooh Linda Cardellini is in it. But she's playing a person with the surname Garcia, so. She's not hispanic/latina at all right? This is a Mexican folk story so that should matter

Rebekah Mckendry literally works for them on their podcast Shockwaves.
    She's off filming right now.
Axelle Carolyn did Tales of Halloween with their crew.
Jackie Kong (Blood Diner) was also on not too too long ago talking about how no one was giving her work.
The Soska sisters just finished the Rabid remake.

  22. The Fly is my favorite horror film. Also, everyone should see The Brood.

  25. OH! I've mentioned this before, but a big part of the reason I'm running through these full franchises is because of how much time I spent staring at the VHS covers at the rental stores, memorizing stills and making up movies because I was either too scared or not allowed to see them.

Well, I finally saw Jason Takes Manhattan, the one that captivated me most as a kid. And it was everything I wanted it to be. Outrageous, silly, and at times, unbelievable. Fun kills, surprisingly memorable characters, and imaginative directing. Just a blast, start-to-finish. I think it might be my favorite entry in the series? Definitely could've done without the kidnapping and attempted assault, which was really unnecessary, but at least they get theirs when Jason finds them. Other than that, truly over the moon about this movie lol.
