David Lynch is the best dream/surreal sequence director, don’t @me about it

The Sopranos and Twin Peaks do dreams in very different ways, but both do dreams better than anything else I’ve ever seen. Also interestingly enough my two favorite shows of all time.

I finally watched this, probably the scariest horror movie I've seen since The Conjuring.

They loved it. Honestly I was almost disappointed how well my wife took a lot of what happened. My sister was very into the demon worshipping twist .

  17. I've been meaning to watch something scary this month, namely It Follows, but Hereditary still has me so fucked up I haven't had the heart to give it a shot.

It Follows will be a good palette cleanser compared to this. I assure you.

I thought It Follows was the most stressful movie I'd ever seen till I saw Hereditary lol.

I thought Hereditary was until I saw First Reformed. That should have been billed as a horror film, I really almost had to bail.

Now I want to rewatch It Follows though.

  21. Wait then how is it a palate cleanser if it just replaces the stress of having watched one film with the stress of having watched another

  22. I haven't seen First Reformed, but that reminds me, I've kind of had the opposite reaction towards movies like Raw, A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, and Let the Right One In, where they're horror films but I didn't find them scary/stressful.

  23. First Reformed is worse than Hereditary? I was about to see it the other night, did not imagine it was horror.

It's not a horror movie, and I don't personally see the connection. BUT it is a very very tense film

It’s incredibly claustrophobic and it has themes that are very realistic/fears I currently have for the future so seeing it was incredibly stressful. In the sense that even a drama is still escapism on some level it just sent me spiraling into thoughts that took me out of the film and back into reality. It’s not horror in any traditional sense.
