Damn, it might actually be in my top five of theirs tbh, it's certainly the one I revisit most post-Make Believe. The only low point of this band (with some highs sprinkled throughout) imo is the stretch of Red through Hurley, basically love the rest of their catalog

 

Pacific Daydream is very good and the reception to it doesn't make much sense to me. Beach Boys is one of the worst Weezer songs though.

I actually liked the new song immediately on first listen, I think it's probably among the stronger "pop" songs they've done.

Sounds incredibly weird hearing Rivers say "motherfucker" though

 

PD is a stronger album from front to back than Green (Green has some total gems, but come on it’s the same song 10 times over), Hurley, Ratitude, Red (gems but woefully inconsistent), Make Believe (soulless), and I would also argue that it is better than EWBAITE (which is a return to form that feels forced and not fully fleshed out in parts, also some uneven songwriting).

I love Pacific Daydream. It keeps me interested, which is why I’m excited for Black Album.

Nothing will top Maladroit and Green Album for me though.

Surprisingly, Hurley has grown on me over the years. I remember hating that album more than the red album when it came out.

 

My hottest Weezer take is I've always loved Hurley

 

One of my best friends is a Weezer fanatic. Pretty sure they're his favorite band. But he will tell you his favorite Weezer album ever is Hurley.

 

Yeah, Hurley really isn’t all that bad. Raditude certainly is, though.

 

Hurley is one of my least favorite Weezer albums. I think I'd take Make Believe over it.
Only song I ever go back to from it is Ruling Me.

 

Make Believe is still underrated and that’s where I choose to die on Weezer Hot Take Hill™️

 

Perfect Situation saves Make Believe for me.

 

This Is Such a Pity, Hold and, Perfect Situation are top tier Weezer songs for me. There’s some duds on there but it’s certainly not my least favorite Weezer record

 

No one ever mentions Peace. I friggin love that song.

 

This is me, too. EWBAITE & White are my top Weezer.

With Black, I think it'll be like how I enjoy PD.

 

Make Believe is awesome.

 

I thought White was the best since Pinkerton and Pacific was completely forgettable

Very Good: Green, White, Everything Will Be Alright In the End
More Good Songs Than Bad: Red, Make Believe
More Bad Songs Than Good: Maladroit, Pacific Daydream
Only liked the Singles: Hurley and Raditude

 

I wanna be in on this convo so I’m gonna finally spin Pacific Daydream a few times. I like the singles and love the last two albums so I’ll probably be into it

I’m honestly okay with never hearing Hurley again. It’s not bad but it’s just nothing to me.

 

Came in here to say this. Make believe has some gems for sure. This one hit me the older I got for some reason
