haha, he technically is what... Gen 7? 8? I don't know how far they are in the real world

 

OK I read through the whole website with the Meltan info, this is what I gathered, I think it's mostly right?

1) everyone will be able to get a chance at their own Meltan from special research before the year is over.
2) when the nintendo switch game comes out, you can interact with the mobile game. When you send a pokemon from the mobile game to the switch game, your mobile game gets a "mystery box." opening the mystery box acts like an incense for only Meltans and you can catch as many as possible in 30 minutes. You can then send any or all Meltan from the mobile game to the switch game where they will follow you around (i dunno why). and then the game hints that collecting many of them will lead to an evolution, or something

 

that’s what i gather as well, but i’m hoping the mystery gifts also drop items/dust. i fully expected Meltan to be only for owners of the Switch game so gotta give them some kudos for not going the greediest route possible

 

this switch game cannot come out soon enough. i cannot waittt to get into this.

 

Finally got Celebi. Still have quite a bit I need in both Johto and Hoenn. Never got that Mime.

 

All assets needed for Gen 4 have been added to the back end of the game, Gen 4 is probably coming tomorrow!!

Android phones can download the new update with Gen 4 info, which means whenever the new update gets pushed to everyone, Gen 4 will arrive

 

I wonder what they end up doing when they catch up to the current gen. How can they keep people engaged

 

I guess they'll have to create a whole new generation just for the game? But yeah, I dunno!

 

I don't think we'll see Gen 4 until Halloween honestly. I think they're just getting it ready.

 

Yeah i dont think its coming for at least another 2-3 weeks

 

The idea of buying a switch to be able to get the evolution for this is absolutely maddening.

 

Switch is greaaaaaat but i do agree that leaning too heavily on the switch for exclusives (aka making people spend $400 they didnt plan to) is only going to lead to drop-off of players or a drastic increase in cheating/spoofing. I’m sure people will find new ways to do it.

 

I already have a Switch so I really foresee myself giving this game up for the most part once Lets Go comes out. I kinda like that they’ll toggle back and forth for certain things so maybe that will keep me interested, but I definitely get the frustration of them basically locking you behind a pay wall if you don’t have the console.

 

I think the games are gonna go hand in hand and complement each other, i forsee still playing PoGo as much as I do in public now and then at home playing Lets Go whenever i can.

I was just in Mexico Beach two weeks ago and the footage/pictures from there are heartbreaking.

 

some quick math - if they keep on the current pace we’ll get Gen 7 in Go in 2021. if the main series games keep on pace as well, that will mean two more gens will have released, giving Go content until 2023, or more realistically 2024 because i don’t see them releasing Gen 9 into both main series and Go concurrently so they’ll probably hold off a year. so that’s 5-6 more built-in years of stuff. by that time mobile technology and AR will have made such strides that there may be a successor to Go entirely

 

It just hit me that with Gen 4 I'm going to have to spend my coins on some baggage upgrades.

*sigh*

Looks like those Super Incubators I was saving up to purchase will have to wait.
