The first Scooby Doo movie is a fucking abomination. The second is a huge improvement. That improvement is from a 1/10 to a 5/10, but still!

Random question but I need some help with Photoshop. I'm trying to fill in a text with a picture. I followed this tutorial and it worked, but it leads to the font being on a white background. I need it to be on a transparent background, but if I change the white layer to a transparent layer, the text disappears. Any advice?
