Okay there needs to be a clarification here on toms cancer. He didn't really beat cancer, he had a cancer scare. He said himself the whole process from seeing the Doctor the first time to being cancer free was two weeks and removing the malignant thing in his chest was a super simple in and out procedure and he was fine. Normally people equate beating cancer to people that have to go through treatment and fight it and the experience drastically changes their life. I don't want to take away from toms experience because I'm sure the scare gave him a lot of perspective and probably changed him a bit too, but your statement is incredibly misleading.

 

After Midnight was the stop the timer on 182...hearts all gone was just a tweet from Mark to a website that said control the A and you had to hit cntl+a to get the song to play.

 

So now I'm a little more sober (), some thoughts one last night's acoustic show:

- Definitely the most energised I've ever seen Mark. He was smiling the whole night and having a blast.

- I was surprised at how big an audience reaction "Bored to Death" received. Everyone was singing along, as if it were of classic status already.

- Matt and Mark sound so good together vocally. Would love a stripped-down acoustic album, similar to Alkaline Trio's Damnesia.

- Lots of stage banter. A real natural chemistry has formed between them.

- Mark confirmed they will be back next summer for full-band tour of the UK.

 

What kind of stuff were they "bantering" about?

 

One thing I did not enjoy last night, was the asshole next to me filming the entire set through his phone and blocking the view of people behind him. At one point, a guy went over and said, "Some people actually want to watch the show. Can you please put your phone away?" He stopped for half a song and then went straight back at it. Absolute dick.

 

The fact Mark had to tune his own bass, Matt struggles to play the "Stay Together For The Kids" riff, that Travis wasn't there, travelling in London, and more I can't remember right now. They also made up two joke songs.

 

Was this at the 9:00 set? because I'm certain i heard something to that effect.

 

No, the 7PM. Wouldn't surprise me if the culprit went to both sets, though. Lots of people had tickets to both.

 

Blinks Radio 1 live lounge is at Midday GMT. (2 hours ish from this post)

 

hu? I thought it was at 9:30 a:m PST, which is like in the evening here in Europe...?

 

There are 2. The live lounge is a short acoustic set in a studio with a cover song.
The thing tonight is a performance in front of a live audience.

I'm REALLY surprised...

 

When i first heard that they were doing acoustic shows, i honestly thought it would sound very bad. But this was really cool. Pleasantly surprised by Bored To Death.

I thought i lost the hype for California, but as soon as i read that a new track was coming i got excited again. Bring on Rabbit Hole.

Definitely messed up the end but Matt is such a better singer than Mark.
