I got to the Yelp part and started to panic that she might have taken you seriously and all the potential awkwardness that could have followed.

 

Planning to propose to my SO in a few weeks. Super excited, and I literally can't stop talking about it. I think everyone I know knows (except her).

Quick favor to anyone who's interested: I'm planning to give her this book of words (I'm not a professional by any means - just a hobby) along with it - something I started writing way back in college up until some years ago. It's like a summary of our relationship together, good and bad and how bad I was before we met. I've been asking people if they could make sketches for it (and in return I'll send them a videogame or something - figuring that out later). I don't want anything polished, doesn't even have to be professionally made - a sketch done in a lazy afternoon (or in a few minutes) would really stick the landing, because that would really fit the theme of what I wrote about (the rawness and spontaneity of relationships in general, imperfections, and acknowledging differences). She knows how much time I spend on AP (way back) and here in Chorus and how much I grew up here, so I'd appreciate that a lot. Again if anyone's interested, let me know! And thanks in advance.

A few weeks ago I went to a comedy show (Craig Robinson in DC), and I held the door open for this woman that was coming towards me. Now granted, it was one of those weird ones where she was a little far away and I might have been able to get by not holding the door, but I did, for no reason other than it's the polite thing to do. She walked through the door and gave me this look (like a head brought back in shock, eyes wide?) and followed it by "cute AND a gentleman?" Like you, I walked away just like wtf just happened? Cause again, never happens to me as well. But I got back to my seat, told the story to my sister, and couldn't get it out of my head. I looked for her as the event was ending, and she ended up totally being my type too. Feels good to have stuff like that happen.

Happy you got to hang out with her afterwards!
