I liked 2 & 3 a lot when they came out, but they haven't aged well and the plot gets very convoluted

I've got the bluray set but have only watched 1-4 though haha

    Everything y’all said.

But then Emily Blunt has her baby and literally avoids holding him for the next hour of the film. John Krasinski separates himself from his kids multiple times. Seems like he loves his wife more than his children. Obviously that ending makes up for it, but still, I was so frustrated with them lol.

Idk idk I just have a hard time accepting that as a realistic parenting move. Even if there were no creatures I'd never let a toddler or small kid walk behind me out of sight.

But man these movies always pick the cutest kids too. I still mourn remake Georgie he was so cute!

having a baby in a world where monsters kill and eat anything that makes noise is prob a bad idea

Still trying to process my thoughts on November. I loved it, the visuals were so striking and that first scene does an incredible job at immersing you in this wild world while playing it straight enough that it feels almost mundane. I wish there was a slightly larger emphasis on plot, I think it would have been stronger overall if there was a touch more to the narrative. All in all it was a beautiful film, really fucking funny at times too. One of the few instances that "you've never seen anything quite like this" actually rings true which in itself is worth celebration

I was so incredibly stoned and in the first scene when the kraak turns into a propeller and lifts the cow I truly could not believe what I was seeing, such interesting worldbuilding

Watching Into The Dark and the main guy looks like if Brendon Urie and Chad Westwick had a kid lol. Also, nice to see Ray Santiago back on screen so soon after Ash vs Evil Dead

Friends and I just decided to watch all 5 Final Destinations tonight in a row.

I think I’ve only seen the first 3, but some of the kills in 3 don’t sound familiar at all so maybe I’ve only seen the first 2. Should be fun!

Damn I’ve been on a roll the past 24 hours. Watched Happy Death Day and The Green Inferno for the first time. Both a lot of fun. Then finished the night with Get Out. Today I’ve watched Into The Dark, The Silence of The Lambs, Christine, and now starting Friday The 13th.

I think the first 3 are a pretty great trilogy. I personally dropped off after that though

Watched all four Screams last night. Love that series. 3 is still the weakest, but Oof the meta is at a new level given all the Weinstein stuff.

jennifer's body was a lot of fun indeed, grateful to yall for pushing me to buy it. so much zigzagging going - it's really quite an intense film but it keeps up that Scott Pilgrim/Mean Girls feeling of "mundane" realities filtered into absurdly high stakes that everyone sort of takes for granted because they happen so suddenly and matter of factly and acceptably in universe, which is simultaneously fun and effective and deeply disquieting given the themes. very glad this was directed and written by women, though, because those anxieties and traumas are very well expressed - kusama is so good at framing and using cinematic languages to develop atmosphere in a single scene while Cody's script provided that uncomfortable nightmarish reality that's also darkly comic. really good midnight movie.

Malevolent was a good time. It takes awhile to separate itself from a fairly common premise though it's done well along the way and the last 30 minutes or so were great.

Watched the purge prequel and despite mixed word of mouth I liked it. I've said it before but I love how heavy handed those movies are
