Oh I like that a lot. when she started reviving on the tree, I thought it was going to take a supernatural turn. When it didn’t, I just shrugged my shoulders and set my mind to have fun with the film despite the glaring implausiblities. The recurrence of the Phoenix with the beer can branding makes more sense now too.

Jeepers Creepers 3 is on which I've never seen cause that disgusting nasty director who should kick rocks, but it's on TV and it's literally so bad and beyond awful I am legit upset people gave money to it. Like. Not that it would be better if the pedophile made a good movie, but some horror fans were really "... Well but" for this actual garbage like this is the hill they died on

John Harrison’s score is fantastic in this, perfect use of 80’s synths. His Creepshow score is superb too.

honestly one of my favorite modern horror films. along with the creepiness of it I thought the story was really solid and the characters were great.

The fact that the beer can didn't imprint backwards is such a glaring oversight

So many of those haha. Like that she was impaled from back to front, but only cauterized the wound on her stomach. I won’t even get into the medical side of it and point out that it does nothing medically for all of the internal damage.
I’m happy with the last explanation and I’m glad it has a reason you can suspend the disbelief instead of just being a “it’s a horror movie, you have to expect to do that.” That makes it a very satisfying film for me.

oh yeah, I didn't let that get in the way of my enjoyment of the movie at all. If we can count it as a 2018 release, it's pretty high on my list

got a 4 day weekend ahead of me. thinking of watching all 4 screams, start my Halloween rewatch, maybe throw in some classics. trying to include enough first time watches as well as rewatches this month. watched The Fly for the first time last night. that was something haha, Jeff Goldblum was so good.

Is The Nun worth seeing if I haven't seen anything else in the Conjuring Universe?

Good to know. I wasn't really interested, but I have AMC A-List and I'm running out of things to see.

Haha. I’d see every other Conjuring movie before I’d see The Nun. Definitely the worst I’ve seen in their universe.

Watched A Quiet Place last night for the first time. Am I the only one who thought John Krasinski and Emily Blunt were awful parents? Lol

In like the first five minutes of the movie alone they were questionable parents

I don’t think they were questionable parents as much as questionable survivors/hikers. Honestly going as an entire group was pretty crazy to begin with. So many close calls before the big stuff happens just because you have a tiny toddler running around.

Watched Mandy finally while at work (both bosses were out lol), and wow! What a trip. Loved peak crazy Nic Cage.

Naw a parent would never have their small child trailing after them out of their view and everyone else's view even like in this world. Let alone apocalypse world. You'd have one parent leading the line and the other as the caboose, or at the least have an older sibling as the caboose. I'd never walk a line like that and idk any parents who would. My nephew is four and he is always either next to me or in front of me. If he is behind me I am constantly turning around or fussing until he catches up. That just made no sense to me.

I think it was meant to show that they had become complacent. Taking all the kids out, acting like it was a fun trip in the woods, not taking the situation seriously every second. Letting that happen kicked off the whole movie and showed why they were so obsessive about every little thing because they had slipped in the past. It was absolutely stupid but I do think it was pretty necessary for the movie to happen as we saw it. I had a bigger issue with them having a baby in the middle of it.

Are the Saw sequels worth a watch? I avoided them bc I thought the first film was such a cool film as a one and done, I didn’t want it to be ruined.
