Holy shit, this is actually pretty amazing. Not gonna lie, my expectations were kind of low because some of the singles didn't really do anything for me. But this is just huge hook after huge hook after huge hook and it works. Wish there was more prog and some more interesting song structures, but it almost doesn't matter when the hooks are this good.

 

Yeah the lead guitar is a little too buried for my liking, probably my only complaint.

I don't know what it is, but part of the chorus of Love Protocol reminds me of Elf Tower. There's times where I go to sing in my head the "I'm giving you up go on and find someone new" part there.

Oh yeah, you could definitely see “the world is going dim in my gaze” to that tune.

 

Oh my god, this album has so many huge songs on it. I have never had an instant reaction to a Coheed album like this.

 

my records should be at the house when i get home. so prepared to sit back and soak this all in.

I honestly think Toys is the weakest track on here. I wish I heard what all of you are hearing. Maybe with time I will. Holy wow this album is dense though. I’m going to need a lot of time with it.

 

I’ve only listened to a handful so far and honestly if Toys is the weakest on the album im not even mad, i think this is gonna fall in as one of their best.

 

I totally hear the HUM on Toys, and I love it

 

Toys is good, but it's not a highlight for me. What IS a highlight is being able to totally hear Josh yelling in the bridge during the gang vocals.

 

This album is so epic. Been through it three times this morning.

Part of me doesn't though if the quality is like the Unheavenly Creatures video. I think comics are a good medium for this, maybe a tv show.

Love the "no longer do I, do I" part during the bridge of All On Fire.

 

I love this album. My small complaint is that I wish there were more outros and less last minute chorus repeats

 

I get this for sure. BUT it's better than the short second verse trope Coheed used to fall into a lot. They really fleshed EVERY song out here, and I think it works for the most part. True Ugly is the main one where I think "We didn't REALLY need to hear this chorus again."

Give me an Amory Wars animated series over anything else

I can't wait until the box set comes. I need to read through that book immediately, so many different ideas floating in my head about this story.
