It looks like 15 Passenger preorders might ship out on Saturday. Here's hoping it arrives a day or two early.

I didn't get any tracking info. I'm hopeful that maybe it shipped on Saturday or something, and they're just now sending out e-mails. Merge sent out my Fucked Up preorder last Wednesday, but I didn't get an e-mail until this morning.

 

My pre-order arrived yesterday, so I got a chance to listen a couple of times last night. On first impression, I really like it. A lot of the press has focused on the return of the cello, but I think the heavier use of keys is just as noteworthy. The instrumentation is very dense, and my cats were freaked out by some of the weird sounds in the background. There's a menace to the music that I don't think they've had since Ugly Organ, though I think it reminds me more of Burst and Bloom overall.

This is one of those albums which is going to sound great on headphones because of all the little nuances going on. I think my favorite tracks so far are Ouroboros, It's Gonna Hurt, Everending, Life Savings, and Noble Soldier/Dystopian Lament. Yes, half the album.

 

“It’s Gonna Hurt” is un-fucking-believable.

Huge fan of pick up the pieces, under the rainbow, everending and ghostwriter as well. Album is just great. Easily my favorite since UO***

 

I was thinking the sound fits perfectly between Domestica and UO*** as well!

 

Yeah it's got massive Burst and Bloom vibes.

I got it, too. Big Scary Monsters has a red marble variant, and there's also standard black. Those are the only three I'm currently aware of.
