I hate requesting access to sharepoints or drives at work because it always has to route through 30 people who don't give a shit.

 

Never got beat as a kid. Except one time I was being such an asshole that my mom clean slapped me across the face. She still cries if anyone brings it up.

I would never, ever, spank or beat a child. But one smack in the ass or a biff off the back of the head if they're being a dick? Sure.

 

A lot of people are saying that they hope the Stanford rape guy gets raped in prison. Isn't that pretty fucked up too? Sure, his punishment is awful and should be extended, but wishing that upon a person, no matter how disgusting they are, isn't really solving the problem our culture has.

 

I remember being threatened to be spanked a lot when I was little but don't have any vivid/specific memories of it happening. I was a pretty well-behaved kid though, I only got two detentions ever in school haha

 

Yeah that's not something to be taken lightly but people do it constantly

There's this weird idea floating around that believes that lack of child hitting leads to why kids are crazy thes days. Like I'll hear, "I got beat and that's why I didn't turn out a serial killer!"

Like... pretty sure violent people experienced violence growing up.

 

If Criminal Minds has taught me anything, it's that violence growing up means you'll absolutely probably kill someone someday.

 

I never got hit, but my step dad tackled me once. We got in this screaming match when I was 15 and I stormed out to do the chore he wanted, and picked up a chair from the porch and threw it at the house. Through the sliding glass door he saw me and I saw him move, so I jumped the steps to run and he got me and took me down lol at the end of it we were both laughing.

 

I think those people are stupidly conflating two issues. Extreme permissiveness and not beating your kid are not the same thing, dummies

Some people think they're the perfect parents even if they have no kids. The people I know who say "I got beat and I turned out fine!!" Are always the biggest asses and I'm like did u tho
