Oh you guys. I am so pumped to listen to this. So so pumped. I really hope this is the one that cements them as a truly great band in a lot of people’s minds. I’ve said that for a while, but I’m ready to say that and people not look at me like I have two heads. The hate they get still really baffles me.

I am amazed by 'Pet Cheetah'.

 

Feels like they’re close to being done, but better to leave on a high note, at peak popularity, than overstay.

 

What makes you say they're close to being done?

 

The lyrics to that last song. Just feels like closure, not of the album, but of their career.

I know they're young, and have a lot of potential ahead, but that's the vibe i got.

 

Ah, I haven't heard yet.

I'd be utterly stunned if this band hung it up in the near future.

This IS a conceptual album, though. Perhaps the "closure" is story-related?

 

I don’t think Leave the City is intended as a potential “goodbye”. I think it’s intentionally left on an “until next time” note. Plus the way he and Zane Lowe spoke about it in the Beats1 interview, it was kind of described as having that purpose.

That’s not to say that I didn’t get really teary eyes during that song. It hurt a whole bunch.

 

This is super dense, which is like the last thing I expected from a 21P album

I don't think I've ever listened to something of theirs and thought wow, but this album is actually very good.

this was pretty good. "the hype" and "jumpsuit" are the probably the only 2 i reeeeeally like, and the rest are real good, but there's just something about this band that doesn't do it for me. i don't know what it is.

Don’t know why, but the ending of Legend (from like 2:00 to the end) really reminds me of the new Front Bottoms material.
