I think they’re really doing the best out of balancing having premium movie content and producing good original content.

Everyone watch Outlander. It isn’t horror at all but you should all watch it.

I can't wait to watch Under Wraps again. So underrated and still endlessly quotable and precious.

Just wrapped up teaching NOTLD. The kids really enjoyed it. Ran through part of Nightmares in Red White and Blue yesterday and today we start Halloween!

get Shudder for the month if you don't have it. They just added Halloween 1 and 4-6 (3 isn't related, so you'll just have to find a way to watch 2)

Oh that’s awesome. I love those movies. Actually had the invisible man tattooed yesterday to add to my work in progress Universal Monsters sleeve.

Edit: it’s on me haha, I can’t draw for shit

that was my running joke when people asked where the rest of the monsters were. he’s one of my favorites, so I knew he’d get a big prominent spot when I finally did him.

If you enjoy older movies, it’s great. They try to present him as a tragic character, like most of the monsters, but I don’t buy it. I like him because he really is the most diabolical of all of them. Once he becomes invisible, he pretty much becomes a terrorist.

On a side note, I’m a basic white girl at heart. I love Halloween for not just the horror, but for pumpkin spice. I’m eating French toast at a place who did a pumpkin spice infused butter to put on it. I’m dying

it wasn't one I fully grasped as a kid, but in my rewatch of them all last year that film became one of my favorites. probably goes Bride of Frankenstein, Invisible Man, Phantom of the Opera maybe? it's so tough, they're so great.

Movie wise, Bride is definitely one for me. Followed by Frankenstein. Invisible Man third. Character wise he’s top, sometimes switches with Frankenstein if I’m feeling more sympathetic that day haha.

And I’m definitely buying that today.

  24. it was fine. i mean... the idea was scary! but i never really felt scared or anything. some of the kills were pretty gruesome, but other than that, it was just kind of boring and never really got scary.

maybe i'm just super fucking brave? haha just kiddin

You're right. It wasn't scary. There was shit jumping out at them constantly, but I don't think there was a single moment where the audience got the effect from the jump scare.

I just thought the premise was cool. I don't even like haunted houses really, but Hell Fest seemed like a dope place to hang out on Halloween. The colors, certain shots/angles, lighting, all worked for me. It "felt" like an 80s slasher film to me. If it had been longer I might have been bored, but at 80 minutes, it kept me engaged.
