I feel like the only way which the heaviness of the record was overstated was that it wasn't as heavy musically as I was anticipating, but the heaviness of the content overall, in overall vibe, I can feel the immense weight behind every note and word.

Even though I saw the thread yesterday, I forgot this was streaming today. As soon as I came on the forums earlier and saw the influx of new pages, it hit me. I've listened in full twice at this point and have to say it has been their most immediate album as a whole. There is not a single song I dislike on it!

As many have said there is just so much to unpack here, and will probably the first album by them I'll just sit down and read the lyrics to front to back.

As someone who's not into Yip's production for the most part ('Shed', 'Keep You', 'Wait For Love' and the 'Untitled EP' are my previous exceptions), this is on a whole other level. When I first heard that they were returning to Yip I had my reservations, (notably because of the vocals on 'Pale Horses') but after the EP and now hearing this I I've completely 180'd. In my opinion this is far and away the best sounding mewithoutYou album, I wouldn't change a single thing from a production stand point.

 

The tones on this thing are amazing.

This came out of absolutely nowhere for me. In a Coheed album year, they might not be my AOTY. Crazy.
