We raid 3's and up pretty regularly, and then many people do the 2's or 1's at ex raid gyms for eligibility or shots at shiny ones from what I see. I've found that I can solo some level 3's which turns out to be a good challenge of picking your team most of the time.


Also, I hit level 40 today. If 12 year old me could see me now.

 

I do some level 3 raids sometimes, especially Machamp since he's good and I don't have a lot of them. Level 1 and 2 I will do for a EX raid pass, or a shiny I don't have if I didn't use my free pass of the day. I rarely do level 4 except if I find a group who does an interesting one. Most times it's for Absol.

 

At least they seem to have changed the EX raid gyms behaviour when the pass has been distributed. Normally there were no raids happening at the gym between the time the pass was distributed and the time of the EX raid, but now there are still raids happening.

 

A-Raichu and A-Marowak got interest, along with Absol. The others only tend to get picked up if people are in the area, travelling in a group, and spot it.

At least with legendaries you tend to know what's going to hatch, so you have time to co-ordinate.

 

We used to hit Snorlax and Rhydon quite a bit in the early days of raiding. Now most level 4's we go for are Marowak, Tyranitar, or Absol.

 

Tyranitar raids were fairly popular around here until the Larvitar Community Day. Now most people got enough good Tyranitars.

 

Got my first Best Friend today. But he didn't remind me we were about to become it so I didn't use a lucky egg it and missed out on an extra 100,000 xp. Oh well lol

 

Regionals in eggs are extended until October 8.

I wanted to like this status about 15 times because I got two Mimes and two Kahns and then everything else Alolan and so this makes me happy

 

I still need some aloha forms. How does one get Marowak and Raichu? Raids? I don't see those hatching and between work and dad life I haven't been able to keep up.

 

Alolan Marowak and Raichu are so far exclusive to tier 4 and tier 3 raids - they are currently unavailable because of the Kanto Festival but may become available after

 

They actually just came back to raids like, 30 minutes ago haha

Gonna be real. Thank God it's over. Gen 4 needs to come soon. Kanto is just a snoozefest.

 

Yeah, I'm right there with you. It was nice to open the app this morning and see stuff from all 3 gens.

 

If I never see another Aron. I will enjoy this game so much more.

I do think the way raids are done is kind of flawed. I pretty much will never complete Kanto because I can't find a group to get together for things like Mewtwo.

Also, does anyone know how many raids you really have to do to get an ex-raid pass? I probably do 4-5 a week but they are all very low level as I am always doing it alone.

 

I believe EX raids are triggered by something like 20 unique accounts raiding at the same location across a certain length of time.

 

Are you doing your raids at Ex Raid labeled gyms?

I'll have to check. I never really looked to be honest. I'm a fairly casual player for the most part.

 

Yeah it now says it in the top right corner when you pull up a gym. Usually in parks or other walkable public spaces.
