Yea this album is blowing my mind right now. So good.

 

Does anyone here listen to/have an opinion on Nipsey Hussle?

 

to me he is boring but i haven't listen to him in a while

 

Yeah I mean I love almost all of his music but lyrically and even flow wise he's nothing too crazy haha. He's been releasing singles for the past few weeks, I'd check out "Status Symbol 2" maybe if you haven't heard anything recent.

he uses the n word like every bar and it usually never bothers me but for some reason its especially distracting

Had no idea Uzi grew up in the neighborhood I went to HS in/currently work in. Small world. Listening to his tape now, It's not bad, I don't really see him doing anything to separate him from the pack, though.

 

uzi's fine, he's just basically a clone of styles that keef dropped like two years ago lol. which is alright, but idk if he's gonna transcend that or why he gets the attention that was/is denied to keef...

 

I'm just baffled that he kinda came out of nowhere. The kids I teach are from the same neighborhood he grew up in, you figure they'd be repping him harder.

Anyway, this song is dope:

 

Liked the Uzi tape. Listening to Yachty's now and enjoy what I'm hearing.

 

Yachty's is cool, but it can become a little bit grating here and there... enjoy the Uzi one more

 

Yachty's recent features aren't too bad but his tape was unlistenable for me

i listened to all of Outkast's Aquemini for the first time in a long ass time and i realized that kendrick owes A LOT to andre 3000. and also it reminded me that 3000 is one of the best rappers of all time, and just might be imo

 

Andre is the best rapper of all time imo

minnesota remix is a blast, which is about as far as my opinion on yachty gets

 

That sounds a lot more Living Legends inspired than Kendrick inspired imo

 

Well I haven't heard too much Modern jazz hip hop artists, so it seemed like an accessible recommendation. Did you like it? I mean, it's really not such a long shot.
