I was disappointed in both Shields and Painted Ruins but that is not a popular opinion. They both have songs I absolutely adore though. Three Rings from the new album is legitimately one of my favorite songs of all time

 

Yellow House is an all-time classic for me, but like with you, Shields kinda let me down and I just didn’t pay any mind to their new release because of it.

 

Tonight they’ll be playing both those albums in full

 

What about Veckitamest? Cause that album is awesome as well

I do love that album, especially the one-two punch of All We Ask and Fine for Now.

Also, pitchfork had a live video of them performing I Live With You that I played a ton back when it came out.

 

There are some hella old videos of them playing I Live With You and Foreground in a cathedral they were incredible. They probably exist on YouTube somewhere

I’d say that it’s not so weird. I have the same couple melodies that are always in my head and I just substitute stupid nonsense words into them whenever I can’t shake the tune.

It must be fun to be extra festive all year, though.

 

its not even a christmas thing anymore - i actually hate christmas music lol. Dinglebats is just a fun word to me and it fits well with that tune.
