I'm so curious about what the reaction to this movie is going to be, expecting a situation similar to The Witch where the general public is expecting a traditional horror film and tons of walk outs lol

 

Is it generally being sold as a straight forward horror film? I've not watched any trailers or clips.

 

The trailers don't make it seem straightforward at all, imo. People who have watched trailers should know they're getting into some weird shit when they see this.

 

Not necessarily, but one of the trailers was far more straightforward than the other of the two I've seen. I mean, when I saw The Witch opening night to a packed theater there were numerous walk outs and the consensus from overhearing people after the showing was that it was "dumb" and/or "boring"

I think "horror" films, more than any other, tend to get people in seats who don't really research what they're seeing beforehand though that could just be colored by a few of my experiences

 

I think this’ll get a similar reaction to Hereditary.

Not sure if you use IPT but I double featured Deep Red and Suspiria that way

 

I haven’t seen the original, but the trailer and promotional pieces I’ve seen is giving me a Neon Demon vibe, which I’m more than okay with.

 

I don’t own it but had it from Netflix DVD to rewatch and the transfer was offensively bad. Made me livid. I need to get that Synapse special edition for sure. Maybe the new one will bring some renewed interest and make it more readily available.
