Enjoying the new phone and made my first purchase using the watch to buy my case and a wireless charger.

Still dealing with some odd issues relating to imessage. Apparently I sometimes appear to my friend under a different account and then my push notifications sometimes just say "imessage" or "text message" instead of what the message is (a friend sent me multiple texts in a row and some did "imessage" and others showed correctly.

Edit: might have finally gotten it sorted. Just surprised not all my settings from my previous phone carried over correctly.

 

My gen 4 Apple TV(non 4K) recently updated/downloaded some more screensavers since I have it set to do it regurally. There are 1 or 2 new earth flyovers from space that are just jaw dropping. Especially with the color accuracy and black levels on my OLED. I can barely fathom these in 4K.

My favorite thing about the Apple TV is the screensavers. For ambient asthetics in the living room as well as a screen wipe function for my tv to prevent ghosted images/burn in.

 

Put em on your Mac too! Everyone says in my office to watch on slow days. Haha. JohnCoates/Aerial

 

Couldn't agree more. They're so satisfying. We went from a pretty shitty TV to a 4K one recently, and although not the best looking TV, the screensavers are so much more satisfying on it. I just sit and watch sometimes and catch myself in a trance.

 

Man if I can get that on my Windows pc(gasp) I’ll do it and not think twice. I’ve had it on “Ribbons” screensaver for probably 7 years. :p

 

It cracks me up - the number of youtube reviews I have seen dismissing this update as a bigger screen and a bigger price tag. It's really disappointing to see some tech youtube channels that do such a good job on most other phone reviews just trash Apple for the clicks.

Unbox Therapy and Jerryrigeverything have been insufferable the last few weeks.

 

He has a windows version! I successfully installed it on 2 windows 10 systems. If you can’t find it let me know I’ll do a search. Same dude I’m pretty sure.

Re-syncing the Apple Watch with a new phone continues to be an unnecessarily painful process, for me at least.

 

So it took me longer than I care to admit but I think I finally got a shortcut working that counts the number of songs and sums the length of the songs I've listened to that day on apple music.

 

Just got an email saying my Max will arrive tomorrow. Much earlier than the Sept28-Oct 5 estimation.

 

I remember i preordered the jet black 7+ and the delivery was like november 5th and i got it 3 weeks later lol never trust super lengthy delivery windows

 

Anyone know where I can get an Apple keyboard with a number pad for a good deal? Like, $60 or less?

My cord just stopped working (had to wiggle it around a lot before), and what was once $49 for my Apple keyboard (meant for 10.6.8 and above) is now $175 on Amazon. It looks like the cheap keyboards are the wireless ones without a number pad, but I use my number pad quite a bit, and I can't find any cheaper than like $109. It doesn't have to be the latest version, I was fine with my old keyboard.

Might have to cave and get a Windows keyboard because when I work from home, I plug my keyboard into my work laptop so I need something ASAP

 

Facebook marketplace or other similar community yard sale type app.

 

Good idea, I should take a look at stuff like that or Craigslist.

My girlfriend's brother works at a University computer store and says the wired Apple keyboards only cost them $30 (so why the hell does Apple charge $129?) so he'll see if he can order one since they're out of stock, but the store is going out of business so my chances aren't too good

I love wallet cases and I'm thinking of going with Apple's Folio Case when I get my XS Max. Up to now the price has jst made me wary but I think I'm just gonna do it.

Haha for sure! And if they're selling to stores at $30 or less you know it costs them like nothing to produce, unless I'm getting a refurb or something, not totally sure

 

Made the switch back to iPhone this morning. Got the XS. Feels good.

2 full days of this Max and I’m loving it. Have no issues and everything is flowing perfectly. Never knew I needed Face ID until now.

 

Now that I know for sure my new Max will be here before my Disney World trip, seriously considering just leaving the DSLR at home and just using that... the examples I've seen so far are insane.
