I’d absolutely say the Friday sequels are more entertaining than like H 4-6

 

Agree to disagree, like we do on most things pertaining to Halloween lol.

 

H4 is great and H6 is fun tho

Granted, I'm only through The Final Chapter, and going through the Halloween series for the first time was something special for me, but I'd say I was definitely more invested in the Halloween series up to this point. I get that "invested" may not mean they're necessarily more fun though or whatever (I'm have a lot of fun with the F13 series right now).

 

Speaking of which, I absolutely LOVED F13 Part 3, the 3D shots and the disco theme and the kills were all so ridiculous. Seeing Jason in the mask for the first time was amazing. The Final Chapter was fine, I kind of felt similarly about it as I did Part 2, but Corey Feldman was a treat and it was still plenty fun to watch. Moving forward should be interesting as A New Beginning is supposed to be where things get really batshit.

 

Part 4 is regarded as the best sequel, in part because it was suppose to kill off Jason and makeup effects pioneer Tom Savini (who worked on the original) returns. He essentially did it to “kill off his creation”. I won’t give away Part 5 but it has some redeeming qualities. In terms of the back half of the Paramount series, I regard Part 6 as the best.

 

Love Tom Savini and his work was great as always, but I just didn't really sense anything special about it. Maybe that's harder to do with the knowledge that there are six more sequels, a crossover, and a reboot haha. I have heard great things about New Blood. Most of what I've heard about A New Beginning (outside of the fact that the murderer is an imposter?) is that the gore and nudity is...excessive. I'm getting most of my information from Wikipedia and In Voorhees We Trust, although their ranking so far has been wack imo

 

Pretty much what you suspect. Just know the next two movies you’ll get into follows the Tommy Jarvis character. Corey Feldman was suppose to return but turned it down for a quick cameo because he was making Goonies at the time.

 

I find Friday is a much more entertaining franchise.
It does stupid/camp way better than Halloween.

Better remake too.
Although the second Zombie Halloween does have the hospital scene.

 

Tried rewatching the F13 reboot like last year and couldn't get through it despite thinking I remembered enjoying it the first time around. And the In Voorhees We Trust guys seem to love it, so idk. Gonna have to try it again I suppose.

‘Mandy’ is Getting a Blu-ray Release in the UK… in VHS Packaging! pretty sweet. UK only though

 

When Scaring Children is a Good Thing: Why Kid-Friendly Horror Matters thought this was a pretty cool article. definitely hope to see a return in this genre for kids films so that my nieces and nephews have great kid horror content to grow up with too
