This is the first I’m hearing of this. They should get Glen from Deicide. Haha

Anyone have any opinions on which show I should go to on Saturday?

I wanna see Sufferer just to hear them play this jam... But I feel like they don't really have a lot of material so they'll probably play for half and hour tops, and I'm not into any of the local openers, so...

The other option is Exmortus and Hatchet. I'm not extremely familiar with either band but from the few songs I've heard, I've dug both bands.

Same here, I didn’t read anything about it. I’m sure Stone Sour will continue on and covers a wider audience.

Exmortus is extremely straighforward death/thrash kinda like Revocation but less tech and more riffs. Pretty fun if not a little repetitive.

She has a drummer and a second guitarist playing with her. They're playing to a backing track but she's shredding.

Good show yesterday. Ne Obliviscaris were easily the highlight of the night.

man that new all that remains song is even worse than phil's headass political views

granted, all that remains have always been d-list tier metalcore but these past few years they've just ramped up the shit factor harder and harder.

    a literal succubitch

Last I heard The Fall Of Ideals was a killer record back in the day but knowing Phil is behind it makes it impossible for me to ever check out.

Also, good lord, Phil is a seriously cursed name. Phil Labonte, Phil Anselmo, and there's a five-star asshole I know IRL named Phil too. Fuck the name Phil.

    Except for Phil Coulson.

This Darkened Heart and the Fall of Ideals are both classics to the New England metalcore scene. They've been extremely hit or miss since then though and don't even get me started on Phil.

Also, I saw Parkway Drive, August Burns Red and The Devil Wears Prada last night. All 3 sounded great, but boy was Parkway Drive a personal disappointment. Don't get me wrong, they were as tight as ever and the crowd ate it all up. Winston's a good front man and had everyone in the room engaged from start to finish. His "moves" reminded me of George from "Deafheaven" which was odd, but whatever...

The disappointing thing was that their set was virtually all stuff from the last 2 albums. I don't blame them. That's where they're at in their career now, and the fans love it. But it just wasn't for me. Not a single track from Killing With A Smile? Only 1-2 songs from Horizons?

They played Living on a Prayer through the PA before Parkway hit the stage and the entire crowd was singing along. (I'm probably a hater for not liking Jovi, but...) - Seems like PWD is going for sing-along stadium anthems nowadays. It's working for them, I just miss the old days.

TDWP was probably the highlight for me.

Agreed on all points, but I will say that This Darkened Heart and The Fall of Ideals are damn near perfect metalcore albums. It's a shame they took as big of a nosedive as they did after those two releases though.

They're a relatively new 'core band from Florida brings in a lot of out there influences like Neurosis, deathgrind, and straight hardcore. They're on tour with Zao and The Atlas Moth now. Here ya go, broseph:

  25. Been on a huge Cave In / Zozobra / Old Man Gloom / Mutoid Man / Isis kick lately. Caleb was such an impressive musician, his screams constantly send chills down my spine.
