I could for sure see them severely cutting down on Gen 1 aside from the things that are still relevant for future evolutions. Not going to lie though, I’ll be a little bummed if this is the one and only chance to get the regionals and I don’t end up with them after all this time. Haha.

 

anybody get lucky with any shinies this event?

 

No shinies which is normal for me lol. I did however get my best Articuno and Zapdos yet stats-wise (both 96%), along with a 98% Porygon and a 96% Kabuto.

 

I think they're gonna take a biiiiig break with gen 1. I don't think they're gonna completely remove the gen from the game but im not surprised if they spawn rarely if at all, and dont appear in any raids or community days.

 

Does the event end today?

 

Gen 1 spawns and presumably the egg changes are until the end of September.

 

yeah I think everything will go until 9/30, mewtwo appearances don't even start until this Thursday

Right - they've already done legendaries in field research, Mew research, all three starters plus Eevee, Pikachu, and Dratini in Community Day, and Alolan and now Regionals are in eggs. Not much left to do with them.

 

I'm convinced my account is banned from catching shinies. I've caught over 400 magikarp and still don't have one. Buddy of mine has two.

And still don't have any shinies of the 3 original starters, even with this event.

 

I do think that we will always have some gen 1 stuff off and on because Niantic really cares about constantly bringing in new players and most casual fans only know those well. Even if it’s just around holidays or special events I doubt it will ever really be “done”.

 

I am ready to go.

 

Every raid I attempt to do is empty except for me. Depressing.

 

Only shiny I have caught this event was a 37 CP/ 38% IV rating Bulbasaur. I've clicked on every single Geodude and Grimer I've seen and I'm yet to get one.

 

I got a shiny Kabuto about 10 minutes into the event, but nothing since.

I’ve clicked on dozens of Growlithe, Charmander, Bulbasaur, Geodudes, and Grimer but no luck either. I’ve had fairly good luck with shinies though on days I wasn’t even looking so no point in getting stressed about it.

 

did we already know that 9/22 is a chikorita community day?

 

Ive gotten a shiny wailmer, eevee, squirtle, and charmander and that literally it (only the wailmer was on a non community day). I catch so much stuff and none are ever shiny.

 

On top of this, I also caught a 2000cp Hitmonlee. Today has been a good day

 

I haven't hatched any regionals yet, but I did hatch a 100% Alola Sandslash, so I'm a little happy about that. I'd trade it for a Kangaskhan, though...

 

Only regional I’ve hatched so far is Farfetch’d, the only one I don’t need.

 

I’ll be in NYC for the last Paul Simon show on Saturday and waiting for that will definitely be my priority over Chikorta. Hope the park has tons of spawns without needing to walk around.

 

NYC is essentially a PokeStop every 20 feet. You'll get a ton.

 

I have one of those and it's (imo) awesome. Taking everything in me not to burn the stardust I saved from the last event on it. i'm actually at the highest i've ever been with dust atm.
