Just watched Mandy and umm... wow. As a huge fan of Cage Rage, this was very satisfying.

Ok. Cartridge. Wingstop. Water. Ice cream (in freezer for later). Pressing play on Mandy .. now

 

Don't pass out this time, pay off is immense

Incredible. Tied with Hereditary for film of the year right now. Might surpass it after a second viewing of each.

Fever dream art house b movies should be a thing

 

Mandy was dope! I kept tripping at first thinking something was either wrong with my eyes or tv lol. The ending was satisfying for sure. The scariest thing in the movie for me was Mandy herself, she gave me the creeps.

Also, this made me want to see Nic Cage take on some deadites soooo bad.

 

This is my first experience in 27 years of living and being a cinema dork that anyone has ever highly regarded Nic Cage's acting as one of the goats.

Edit: I'm still gonna see the movie though of course.

 

Should I watch Southbound or Creep next?

 

Creep

Southbound is great really but the Creep series is severely underrated

 

This is my first experience (outside of my parents) of somebody not loving the insanity of Nic Cage

 

Creep, easily.

 

He's got like 3 roles I enjoyed him in otherwise, maybe i'm just too young (which is rare now for me) to be fond or appreciate his other work.

 

I’m only 10 min into creep and already feel so uncomfortable! Can’t stop awkwardly laughing at tubby time video. This is gonna be fun to watch both back to back

Cage is the greatest.

 

Roger Ebert wrote like 40 reviews about how Cage was one of the best ever.

 

Also I really need to see Mandy, the descriptions sound awesome. Wish I had someone to go with.

Mandy was really the ultimate Nicolas Cage role imo

his role in Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans is also a favorite of mine

 

I don't think I've actually seen Nic cage in anything? This and the Bradley Cooper convo in the other thread is making me realize I've seen like no movies haha

 

also really love him in Wild at Heart

 

OK I lied. Looked up his filmography and I have seen fast times at Ridgemont high and teen titans go to the movies

 

Bad Lieutenant and Mom and Dad are two great recent examples. Wicker Man remake is also very good Cage

 

I'm willing to accept that some may be more familiar with his body of work than me, and that opinions are moot in the grand scheme of things. But, this is one line I will not accept. Terrible movie in every aspect.
