Even as someone who thinks Daedalus is the best song they've written, this just gave me a huge laugh, so kudos to you lol

If this is carry the fire pt 2, who cares? That’s a fantastic album haha

I don’t think that, I’ve just seen that complaint

I thinks it’s just about the marginalized as a whole. I think of many important social movements when I hear it.

The album fucking rules. I love it.

  13. even the song I don't particularly like a lot (Hold Up A Light) still features some awesome vocals from Dustin and ends in a nice flurry of aggression

    I’m like 7 spins deep...

I adore this. I am so pumped to see them in 2 weeks. I’ll love whatever they play off this album but really hope they play My Soul.

Hold Up A Light is the weakest track to me, which seems to be the general consensus. Cool.

Fairly certain these are my current favorite lyrics from the album.

“Are you ready for my soul?
What if I'm broken from the start?
And what if I never heal?“

Surprised I haven’t seen a lot of hate thrown at some of the many biblical references. Some are more subtle though, that may be why I don’t see as much hate as M/m gets for it. It all seems super obvious to me since I went to bible college and studied a ton of theology. I don’t know what I am anymore though. The Grey is fairly relevant to some of my current thoughts on it all.

I love a lot of the lyrics here and need more time reading them to really dig in.

That’s all I will ramble for now. Long live Thrice!

I'm surprised you didn't connect to Carry the Fire, especially since I'm pretty sure you're a John Mark McMillan fan. Not that Dustin and JMM have exactly the same style, but... I dunno, I kinda view them in a similar way.

I like Carry the Fire more than every Thrice album besides Beggars, so like, that'd be a good thing if true, lol. (Only a couple listens so far, so dunno if it has any partial validity, or if it usurps Carry the Fire. Very good so far, though.)

I would think it has a lot to do with what you're saying where the references aren't as in your face. Also it has to do with the obvious struggle Dustin is having with religion throughout the album in general, that's something a lot of people can relate to. This is 100% less preachy then Major/minor was.

I really want to see them play Hold Up a Light into The Arsonist.

Not only is it cool that the break down is just bass and drums, the way that the bass follows the drum fills is absolutely amazing, the bass performance is next level

I feel terrible because I hardly ever have the pull to listen to TBEITBN except for Hurricane, Salt and Shadow, and Black Honey. Just never clicked with me.

EDIT: Lol and I say this as you post the above
