they were so good, though. the crowd on the other hand was...something else. a circle pit to “you can’t look back” of all songs was highly unexpected lol

Is anyone at the Sum 41 show? Have they started yet? We’re trying to make it but running late

Adams voice talking to the crowd between songs - what the fuck was that? Haha, they ripped though. Wasn’t expecting that.

Yeah I picked up on that too. Couldn’t stop laughing. I actually thought their newer songs all sounded better than the stuff I’d heard live before.

It was kind of funny, Weezer played a bunch of hits right in a row to start the set and I forget which song they played but suddenly
it seemed like there was this mass exodus of people.

Very tempted to hit that K.Flay after show tomorrow night. She killed it today.

Weezer was on autopilot or something for the first few songs, but then once "My Name is Jonas" started they got super energized and were firing on all cylinders.

If I'm only going one day, i feel like I got my money's worth.
Fever 333: Knew nothing about them but they were kind of like a mix of Chester Bennington and Rage? Not exactly my cup of tea but I thought they were good.

Pussy Riot: Like, I get it - they're important and stuff. I guess I didn't know what to expect. But it was this weird techno pop? For some reason I thought they were a punk band. Maybe they were at one time or something. I dunno. Still cool.

Hobo Johnson: For some kid I knew nothing about about a week ago, I fucking LOVED their brand of weird, mumbling, raw hip hop. He even admitted this was the biggest crowd they ever played for but I thought they were very impressive. The Kelly Clarkson cover was ill-advised but I'll chalk it up to the fact they only really have a handful of songs.

Front Bottoms: Great as always. They have a bunch of new members now too. Is Ciaran not playing with them anymore? At one point I turn to my left and Frank from Hobo Johnson is standing right next to me. Then TFB brought him up for Twin Size Mattress.

Matt and Kim: Fucking crazy. I was standing in front of the other stage and watched it all happen. If you were there you know what I mean by "it all" because it was a lot.

Bleachers: I liked it and like them. They just kinda fucked around for a while. Jack seemed let down by the crowd energy.

Young the Giant: Still don't really "get" them. They were talented but couldn't really get into it. Covered All the Small Things which was cool and the singer called out Brown Sound from Sum 41 for being the first Indian he saw in rock, which was also cool

Weezer: I mean, yeah. They were GOOD. They played a few too many covers (Not sure we needed the Turtles AND A-ha) but obviously Africa and Blink, yes. (All the Small Things. Again.) Played everything I could have reasonably expected them to play. I thought the crowd was very good, near me at least at the very front on the left.

Aside from the fact it took me almost two hours to get home, it was a good one. Sorry this is so long. My wife is out of town so I need someone to gush to about this. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

Frank of Hobo Johnson stood next to me during The Front Bottoms’ set, and at the Sum 41 aftershow tonight, I was on the street waiting for my Lyft, and he came up to me and said Hey, and we ended up talking for a minute. Such a sweet guy.

Today was fun! Matt & Kim and The Aquabats were the standouts today, and the Sum 41 aftershow was good.

Adams from Alabama and grew up in North Carolina, so the southern makes sense. He actually used to try to like, fake a north east accent when the band started

The crowd got really intense for them but I think it was kinda getting tense since the sum 41 delay. Two ppl around ppl had to be taken out for medical issues and one was punched after harassing some other crowd members.

I’m actually kinda grateful for the chiller Saturday in the weekend now

Shocked myself and managed to stay up for almost 24 hours yesterday. I’m sad I didn’t get to the park till around 8 but I caught the last bit of TBS and Young the Giant was great. The Sum 41 after show was fantastic. My body is ready for an easier day today that’s for sure.

As much as everyone freaked out and wanted to hate on Riot Fest, I had an absolute blast yesterday and already know I will definitely go next year. Also, I wish they would bring back The Aquabats every year!

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

Anyone know what controversy happened with Weezer and Cypress Hill?

i don’t understand. he mentions he understands when bands want the stage cleared, but is complaining about it here? i don’t know how they handled it “unprofessionally,” but i doubt we ever really get a full story because weezer won’t waste their time explaining what happened haha

They had the crowd blow up a shit ton of balloons, they threw out a bunch of blow up dolls and two massive beach balls. Just a ton of energy and general craziness.

I'm confused. Didn't their sets overlap like a half hour or something last night though?

Was that someone in the band they kicked off stage or one of their friends? Either way it doesn’t seem like anything you should be putting online.
